An alternate ending, if you turn it off early

Joss Whedon is my favorite person ever. No really. I know this isn't new news, but. A Special Edition release of Serenity has been announced for this summer. YAY! I can own it in widescreen!! And yes, this is the only movie I would buy twice. Joss has this to say about the new edition:

Joss is my god... )

kane, movies, serenity, music, firefly, departed, bandom - fob, joss

Oh, Farscape. You won't regret it. Half the time it's like watching fanfic and the other half of the time it's ripping your heart out and handing it back to you. John/Aeryn are the badass OTP of all time, and John wears leather pants and is frequently physically tortured.

There is no bad there.

What does he mean by "key art"? I'm such a noob, I don't even know. I'm loving the "alternate ending if you turn it off early." Oh, Wash. And what are The Tam Sessions? Do we get more River backstory? Eh? EH?

Thank you for the heads-up on this. ...this is the only movie I would buy twice. Ditto.

I've never heard the key art term myself, but I'm assuming he means the art on the cover. Because the American art SUCKED LIKE A SUCKY THING.

The Tam Sessions were a viral marketing campaign released in bits and pieces online before the movie came out. It's videos of pieces of River's time at the Academy, and they're spaced out over time, so you see her normal at first, and then gradually getting more broken, asking quietly to see her brother. They BREAK MY HEART. But they're amazing. And Joss is the voice of the guy talking to her! \o/

Yeah it was kind of... eh.

I have never seen those! Will be buying this DVD! And leaving the normal version for my dad when I go away to college next year, haha. I got Firefly on DVD for Hannukkah and he was all over it. My dad's so cool, yo.

Haha, I think that's the idea. They know that with a dedicated fanbase like this, they'll get PLENTY of sales on a second edition.

Heeeeee. This is what I hear! I absolutely can't wait *beams*

I've heard that they start out very episodic, but then begin to dig into the meat of the story. I am totally on board with this and will certainly not give up! No worries!

Hee, you are so cute! Fall Out Boy is a very... hm, youthful thing? It's just sheer FUN, bouncy music with semi-poetic lyrics that are actually mostly just nonsense but sound really cool to say. Like, "So long live the car crash hearts, cry on the couch, all the poets come to life, fix me in forty five." I have NO IDEA what they're going on about, but it's FUN. Hee. Do tell me what you think when you get your hands on it!

Yeah, the first half of the first season was very stand-alone and it took me awhile to "get into it", even though I was totally entranced by Ben and Claudia's chemistry from the get-go. But man, from DNA Mad Scientist on...I was fucking HOOKED and they haven't gotten their claws out of me yet. *g*

Also, Anne, what's really awesome about Farscape is that it's like, it has the puppet thing? But they become so REAL to you by the end. You feel for them, you love them, and you CRY for them. It's just amazing.
