when i get the departed on dvd i will probably hold it to my chest and roll around giggling with glee. that movie... just... *flails*

i laughed so hard with utter GLEE in the theater. i can't say my experience was as awesome as yours sounds because the theater was nearly empty, but damn. so awesome.

This movie, Tim! And you are VERY appropriately using a BDS icon - this movie reminds me strongly of BDS. I like it for many of the same reasons. Clearly on a completely different level, but there are things I love about BDS that are missing from the Departed (coughbrotherfuckingcough) and vice versa. Basically they are both fucking AWESOMESAUCE movies *flail*

People literally SCREAMED at a couple of the surprises at the end. IT WAS SO FANTASTIC.

yes! god, it's like if they took bds and the departed and melded them together you'd have the best of both worlds... the intense ohmygod-inducing plot twists and intricacy of the departed with the utter love between the macmanuses. i mean, dignam and smecker!!! can you imagine the snark convo that would be had between those two? I'M SO HAPPY YOU FLAIL WITH ME OVER THIS. i was all: i barely know her but OH MY GOD SHE SAID THE MAGIC WORDS. THE DEPARTED. MUST. FLAIL.

DIGNAM aslfkjsdlfkj *brain shorts out* I think this is my favorite part of the movie: "Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe fuck yourself." *KERFLAIL* I don't even know WHY but he's just... nngh. I really really REALLY hope Mark gets the Oscar for this role. And Dignam and Smecker, YES! There would be, like, an explosion if you put those two in the same room! Hahaha. Oh, GENIUS.

Seeing Serenity was one of thos experiences :O There weren't many people, but those were fantastic ... they all knew Firefly and they were all fans and watching it together was so great ... sharing the laughs and the tears and it's just a great memory *g*

I have been away from the net and LJ for a whole week because of Stargate Atlantis! DAMN that show is addictive! I kind of zoomed ahead of you and I'm now up-to-date with the current eps and OMG IT GETS BETTER!

Except I am totally developing a Thing for Ronon/Teyla. I like how they understand each other, both being outsiders to these strange Earthlings. That may or may not have something to do with this episode, but I know they were in grave peril together, so :P

THANK YOU! Thank you thank you thank you! I'm not the only one! As soon as I finished watching all the eps I immediately went in search for lots of Ronon/Teyla fics. To my great sadness, there is very little. Damn me for shipping a not-so-popular het couple! It makes finding good fics so difficult. :(

It's really unpopular?? How weird!! I could have sworn there's significant canon basis for it (Ronon seems totally SMITTEN by Teyla, for one thing) and I'm rather ashamed of the fandom for not hopping on such a hot pairing. Boo.

It's not really unpopular - it could just be that I haven't found the central place for all the fics yet. At least, that's what I'm hoping. It is so obvious in canon so I thought it would be all over the place! They would be so SCORCHING hot together and I just can't understand why barely anyone is behind that! It's all McShep this, McShep that. Where's all the het, people?! :D

I think you've got to kind of read the fic to really get behind the McShep - it's one of those pairings that you need to have that metatextual experience of. This might also be my "read the fic before I watched the show" talking.

ANYWAY. Ronon/Teyla rocks my socks, though I mostly feel their love is pure and big-sisterly/little-brotherly.

*pauses for a moment and thinks about the big/little sibling thing* But we all know how very very LOW my moral high-ground is with regards to saying "oh it's not sexual, it's sibling-y!"

Except when they stick-fight. Or are on Wraith-enzyme. Then they fuck a lot and it's sweaty and athletic. Or when Ronon is fucking Weir. Or Sheppard. Or Rodney.

Ronon is slutty and I wouldn't have him ANY OTHER WAY. He's too much man for OTPing.

It's awesome watching you go through these episodes. Almost like reliving them myself. From Irresistable on, Season 3 goes to this AWESOME place where most of the episodes are just so fantastic. You're coming up on the Common Ground/McKay and Mrs. Miller/Phantoms set and I'm so excited for you!

I mostly agree with you on the whole Michael/Wraith thing too. I was actually thinking of writing something up after the last episode. Because once they made them human they either had to treat them like humans or treat them like wraith and the fact that they wouldn't make that decision ... On the other hand, I understand why they wouldn't want to just send Michael out to start killing people, but they just put themselves into a really bad position. I didn't like it. Misbegotten was probably my least favorite episode of the entire series.

But John is very pretty and awesome! That's what I think to myself when petty things such as "morality" get me down!

This is crazy because I am going to go see the Departed tonight in a movie theater that will be full of college students. Every single person I know who has seen the movie said it was amazing, and based on your reaction I am super excited! I love Leo and Matt though, as a personal preference, haha.
