I'd say check out the first couple of recaps to determine if S3 is worth getting or not. I don't remember which season they finally broke up for good. All I know is I hated the one where jared got married and stuff. gah. I won't spoil all the awfulness in case you haven't seen it.

S4 is the one where Dean was married. Well, technically he was engaged at the end of S3, but S4 was where he was married. S5 is the one where they completely assassinated his character. :/

*points at icon* Even Sam is sad about it.

Well, S1 & S2 are definitely the best seasons for Jared's stuff.

S3 is a very good season on the whole, but Dean/Rory are kaput by 3.07 and then he pops up every now and then to be annoyed with Jess or to like... get engaged to another girl. :P

Soooo, if you are JUST getting it for Jared, it's sort of so-so and not as good as S1 & S2. But if you are getting it because it is awesome, then get it. :D I'm a big fan of the show on the whole, and Seasons 1 - 4 are particuarly brilliant, S5 is decent (except for they assassinate Jared's character), and s6 just plain blows.

I should also say that there are a few episodes where he and Rory just kind of hang out and attempt to be friends but it makes Jess jealous and crazy.
