hey anne, thx for telling me that the superman movie sucks balls...now i have an excuse to give jacki *grins* you're the best...& im really sorry that sarah can't come...i haven't met her yet...but if she's anything like you, she would've been an absolute blast...anywhoo, have fun with the artery
Well, I thought Brandon Routh did a great job, personally. *shrugs*
But I pretty much agree with you on Kate Bosworth. Total mis-cast. Just wrong wrong wrong. And the reason I HAD to reply to your post was that after the second time I saw the movie, we were discussing who would have been a better Lois Lane and the first person I said was, AMY ACKER. Heh. Because she's just that awesome.
Well the problem may be that I've never seen anything Superman related before. My cousin Meg told me that Brandon had Superman down pat, imitated the style perfectly, but... he didn't make me feel anything. So maybe it's just that I don't know the character.
Never seen anything Superman related before? As in never ever? Like NEVER? o_O
That astounds me for some reason! I mean, I can see some people not being fans of the whole Superman thing, but you'd think you would have caught one of the Christopher Reeve movies on TV by accident or something. LOL. It's like when we were at my uncle's house a few weeks ago and he confessed he had never seen a Star Wars movie, and the entire family stared at him like he was insane.
I am like... your opposite. Because I saw the Reeve movies about a million times when I was growing up, watched Superboy, Lois and Clark and now Smallville. I love me some Clark Kent.
Nope, I can't ever recall seeing even a few minutes of one of the Superman movies! It is weird, isn't it? And as for Smallville, all I've seen is a few slashy moments between Lex and Clark, lol. I have seen all the Star Wars though, so I'm not a TOTAL loser ;)
So we're agreed then re: Superman Returns, hee. ;D I think people are liking Routh because he was good at copying Reeves for the most part. Whether that was directing or his own choice, he isn't going to *be* Reeves, so I would have liked to see maybe a nod to that and then some take of his own on the character.
But whatever. Bosworth still would have been there to annoy me, so it wouldn't have fixed much, lol. ;P
