Well, Valentine's Day. {...} had seen a fair few of those go by in his time as a zombie, and they never seemed to change-- candy he couldn't eat, love he couldn't share in, just another day of another year as one of the undead.

Loitering by a wall, {...}'s face was as blank as ever, standing stiff and unmoving. Even if he was apathetic towards the holiday itself, he liked how it was gathering people together. Something about being around people like this, happy people... it made him feel fulfilled.

Despite knowing he wouldn't be able to pull off the acting side of things, {...} decided to continue the banter, since at least that in itself would help with the facade.

"No, don't thank me," this time, he didn't try for volume at all, and instead spoke quietly to Asuka. "After all, I'm very lucky to have you."

Asuka wasn't quite sure what to make of that statement. Her face reddened a tad, but she put on a proud smile. "Of course you are! I'm the ideal woman for pretty much every man."

Not sure what to follow that up with, {...} continued to dance silently, trying his best to look happy for Asuka but not getting very far. He definitely wasn't very good at the whole 'fake boyfriend' thing, or... hey, maybe he was. How was he to know? It's not like he could remember what it was like to be in love. And who was to say he ever had been?

As they danced silently, she realized something. "Right. I forgot to ask for your name."

"I'm sorry... I don't actually have one," he looked off to one side. "But nevermind about that. What's yours?"

Ignoring his question, she stopped dancing. "How can you not have a name? That's just not possible." Placing her hands on her hips, she awaited a reasonable response from him.

"I have amnesia. I don't remember my name, or my family, or anything much at all about who I used to be," if she hasn't realized that {...} is dead by now, then it's probably better not to bring it up at all.

No, she has not figured it out yet.

Asuka furrowed her brow and crossed her arms. "I see. Well, there's not much that can be done about that. I'll just have to call you something because I'm certainly not going to keep calling you by pet names."

"Any ideas on what?" Given her extraordinary ability to ignore his dead-ness, he wasn't expecting the usual 'Mr Zombie' fare.

"How about Marcel?" Asuka asked, rather enthusiastic about it.

"That'll do just fine," it was better than about half of Hanna's ideas, at least. "But you still haven't told me what I should be calling you."

"I'm Asuka Langley Soryu, famous Evangelion pilot for unit two! I'm sure you must have heard of me at some point." She looked rather proud of what she said, even if he likely had no idea what she was talking about.

"I'm sorry, but I haven't," he said. "But Asuka is a nice name. Japanese, right?"

Though disappointed that he didn't know her, she still acted civilly toward him. "Yeah. I've got mostly German blood in me, though I'm part Japanese."

"I guess that explains the red hair," he looked at it for a few moments, then smiled, reminded of Hanna. "I think I'm part-Japanese too, somewhere down the line, but I have no way of knowing."

That theory of his was mostly just speculation, though. His facial structure seemed to have Asian cues here and there, and the tie to paper cranes appeared to imply that it'd be Japanese heritage giving him those traits, but between the rot and the amnesia there was no way of knowing. Maybe if he saw himself alive, there'd be a clearer idea, but as it were...
