001. [video/action for Route 43]

[There had been some definite toying around on this particular connection today, the screen flickering off and on as the PGC's functions were flipped from video to voice to text and back - anyone with a reasonably quick eye may have caught glimpses of amber eyes and long black hair, and perhaps sharp features holding an expression that seemed more ( Read more... )

[Oh look, another interesting newbie. Although "interesting" has more of a negative connotation here. Matt has no idea how drawing fancy circles and clapping is supposed to accomplish anything.]

...

Dude, what were you doing just now?

[...hm. Not anyone Kimblee is familiar with, to be sure, though that's not exactly unexpected, given the location, is it?]

Ah, you'll have to forgive me - merely a bit of experimentation on my part. I'm afraid I'm still becoming accustomed to exactly how this place...works, so to speak.

Oh, okay... Just so you know, fancy powers don't work here.

[There's a brief pause.]

Um, did you wake up in Mahogany Town by any chance...?

That's a bit of a strange question to ask someone right away; was that what happened to you?

[...let's just say he noticed the surroundings he awakened in.]

[Oho, so he did. Matt can tell by his tone.]

Yeah. Some dude told me that people usually wake up in New Bark, but sometimes people start off in Mahogany instead... I figured you did too since there's no way you could get to that area so quickly.

[That's basically code for saying sup, fellow Rocket.]

Funny how that works, right?

[...oh, this pleases him.]

Ah, isn't it just?

[Pleasure to meet you, comrade.]

I suppose that you've been here for a while, then?

[Likewise. ...Maybe.]

Um, sort of... I've been here for about three months. It's not really that bad compared to how long others have been here, though...

["That bad"...presumably there's no leaving this place voluntarily, then.]

Well, if we're going to be here for a while, I see no sense in not introducing ourselves properly - might I ask your name?

Oh, yeah! I'm Matt Engarde. What's your name?

Solf J. Kimblee - it's quite the pleasure, Mr. Engarde.

You too, Mr. Kimblee dude.

Um, by the way, are you having any trouble getting out of that area?

[..."dude."]

I wouldn't consider it trouble so much as an unwillingness to leave the general vicinity of Mahogany Town until my chimera is capable of doing something besides "making a nuisance of itself."

...though the improbable ledges aren't exactly helping in that endeavor.

[...It's a habit...

Well, not really, but. Details, details.]

Chimera...? You mean your Pokémon?

HTML, how does it work explosivecombat October 20 2011, 01:02:57 UTC
[Well, while we're arguing semantics.

Kimblee glances off-camera for a moment, just long enough to verify that his herpderp of a Voltorb is exactly where he left it. And it is. Still having a glaring contest with that ledge like it's going to decimate it through sheer willpower.

You keep on keepin' on, derpy.]

Yes, that. Pathetically useless so far, though I expect that will change eventually.

Yeah, most of them get better... You just have to level them up a lot.

Through making them fight with one another, correct? I've already begun, in that regard.

[...let's. just not discuss the tall grass. ever.]
