I have been to the dermatologist twice in Japan. The first time back in 2007 when I moved here I had this nasty rash I had my entire life on my arms and neck and basically after seeing a dermatologist in Kishinosato (Yotsubashi line) I was given some cream and the rash has been gone for good. That place I believe was called Asada clinic and is between Kishinosato and Tengachaya station. The doctor could also speak some English.

I went again this past summer to Kobayashi Hifuka in Tamade, really close to the station. I had an allergic reaction to caterpillar hairs and broke out with a weird rash and he gave me some stuff and it went away (didn't take long). He could speak some English... Wasn't too bad.

Thank you very much! I really appreciate the specific recommendations. :) I live kinda close to Tamade, so I'll definitely that place in mind!

There is karaoke Chaw Chaw and a Lawson near exit 1 of Tamade station on the Yotsubashi line. Kobayashi clinic is around the corner from the Lawson.

Oh no, you should definetly judge a book by a cover I`ve had really bad experiences with shady dermatologist clinics.
Always go somewhere new and with youngish doctors!

Anyway, the 3rd place I went to managed to correctly diagnose and treat me (after a year of suffering under other doctors), it`s called Bentencho clinic and the dermatologist is there on the mornings and Tue and Thur evening.
Here`s the website.

It says they deal with acne.

But you know I`m sure the big hospital could treat acne.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate the advice and the recommendation!

I'm sure the hospital could also help, but their site was confusing and I'd really rather try a specialist first. :D

I've been to a dermatologist before for acne, and after a quick interview, he put me on antibiotics - no fuss, it was almost too easy. You should have no problems getting antibiotics, especially if you've been on them for acne before :)

That's a relief! :D Do you remember how much the antibiotics cost, by any chance?

don't remember how much exactly, but it was really cheap - 400 or 500 yen, something like that. Definitely no more than 1,000. The prescription was for a couple weeks. Fuck yeah, being on 70/30 national health care rocks!

Damn! Back home in the US it cost me about 200 USD a month for the antibiotics, which is why I had to stop taking them. If I could get something effective for that cheap, I'd probably cry. XD
