I'm an expat in transit - currently stuck in US, probably working here for a year before a trip around the world that will hopefully land me in Croatia. I'm a European mutt from Ukraine, but over time have began to feel more like a generic European (although a little bit nostalgic about the Soviet Union), since I never really became American and ( Read more... )

I hope everything works out for you in Zagreb! (And congrats on snagging the hot Hrvat!) I hope to be there by October 2007 - probably gonna study Croatian at the Uni there at first. I'll try to catch you online later!

"Stuck" is an interesting word choice for a voluntary expat.

I hope you enjoy Croatia.

At the moment, I kinda can't leave US, since my dad is gonna live abroad for a year (guess he's gonna be an expat in a new setting too), so I'm waiting for him to get back so we can sorta switch over, because at the moment we can't afford for both of us to go over to Europe at the same time. *sigh* I've got a lot of nice family friends over in Croatia, so I am looking forward to going there. Thanks!

I hope you enjoy it! I've been reading a lot about the area, so I'm jealous you'll be getting to go there. How will you make your living? I'm always interested in the... logistics of being an expat in different parts of the world.

I'm not sure yet about what I'kk be doing there, but I've got a decent grip on the language already, and have a good number of connections, so I hope something will come up eventually. I'm a researcher/translator, more or less, but I'm interested in tourism as well, so I'll see what'll happen. And your icon is pretty! *hearts Aubrey*
