it's SO good. i'm sort of hesitant to start S3 because i love the original kids so damn much. i know i'll end up loving the new group but i'm not ready to let go of my bbs!
i HEARD about "dog days"! when i first started flailing over florence and the machine, i'd posted that song, and a couple of people mentioned hearing it on skins. :D
poor chris. i accidentally spoiled myself for his death on wikipedia, but it didn't make it any less awful. :(
i didn't expect to like michelle because i pretty much figured she'd be another marissa type, but i wound up really loving her, too. i wound up loving all of them except maybe anwar.
i really loved it. thanks for telling me of its awesomeness! :D
i love how, despite the many really crazy situations they all get into, they DO seem like real people even when the circumstances are pretty far out. really great characterization - they all had distinct roles/personalities within the group, but nobody ever felt one-note or like a caricature.
also, i didn't have "time to pretend" because i downloaded the dvd rips. SO FUCKING BUMMED! i just watched it on youtube and that was sooooo much better than whatever random music they used on the dvds. :(((((
I never thought of the Michelle-Marissa connection, but: YES. Now I'm kind of mourning for what could have been.
I hated Cassie and Sid so much during the middle of series two, but those last two episodes made me feel a bit better. (And yes, they are living happily in NY.) Was that not the greatest ending? "Time to Pretend" just worked so well for the scene and the overall feel of the show. Skins has the best music choices.
Chris and Jal are my favorites ever. Ever ever ever.
I will say I'm in the minority that kind of ended up loving series three. So go into it with an open mind!
i always thought that marissa could've been a pretty decent character in the hands of a more capable actress. because i really do think josh had sort of a michelle-esque character in mind, but mischa just couldn't do it and eventually they just wrote her the only way mischa could play her. SIGH!
cassie and sid were really frustrating for a while, but idk, i just love them both no matter what they're doing. i'm bummed that neither of them are in much of anything else (or anything at all, in mike's case).
chris and jal were so sweet together. her speech at his funeral, omg. and then her sitting at his graveside, just being with him. ;____;
I DIDN'T GET "TIME TO PRETEND." :(((( i downloaded the dvd rips, figuring they'd be the best quality, and now i'm discovering i got lots of music fail. :( i did go and watch the ending on youtube tho with the original music and ugh, it was perfect! i also had to watch the scene of cassie alone in new york to "hometown glory" on youtube. beautiful <3

ugh, "Hometown Glory" made me cry SO MUCH the first time I saw it.
Also, I agree a million times over on everything in regards to Marissa. When Taylor became the focus in s4, it was like "oh yay, a competent lead actress!" It made the show so much more bearable and fun to watch. (But you knew this already!)
So did you come around on Tony? Love him by the end? His injury and struggle to become who he was really made me love him SO MUCH. The first S2 episode made me cry buckets because of Tony.
