He knew that if being a father was really meant for him then no matter what the difficulties they would encounter, a child will be given to them.
Kyungsoo however was handling the news completely opposite of how Yifan see it. Kyungsoo was gravely affected by it. He demanded Yifan to take him to another doctor to have him tested again, and after it having the same results as the first, Kyungsoo asked every possible thing he could do to correct what was wrong in his system. Kyungsoo wanted so much to have a child and he feels that he will be nothing but a failure if he wasn’t able to conceive.
Somehow, Kyungsoo’s prayers had been answered. It’s been two weeks since he had been throwing up and his appetite suddenly changed. Instincts told him to grab a pregnancy test kit and take the test. He wanted to make sure, he wanted a child for so long and if it was the right time for him to bear a child then he wanted to confirm it as soon as possible.
Kyungsoo’s heart race as he waited for the results, he sat on the bed…closing his eyes when he knew that the five minutes were done. He grabbed one of the devices and slowly opened his eyes. When he finally saw the results, he wanted to immediately call Yifan. No one can explain the happiness of seeing the three positive test kits lying beside his bedside table.
Yifan entered their house and immediately smelled the delicious aroma of his husband’s cooking. He approached his husband and Kyungsoo greeted him with a huge smile and a passionate kiss.
“Woah, you seemed like you were really in a good mood today…”
“I am!” Kyungsoo enthusiastically answered. “I think you need to take me to the doctor tomorrow…”
Panic surged through Yifan immediately, he cupped his husband’s face in his big hands and ran his eyes over Kyungsoo… trying to check if his husband was hurt somewhere.
“Are you okay? Do you feel sick?”
“Yeah, but usually in the morning… I always feel like throwing up.” Kyungsoo said as to give a hint but Yifan didn’t understand it because he was worrying too much.
“Do you feel sick now? Do you want to throw up? Should I rush to the pharmacy to get you some medicine?” Questions after questions were thrown at Kyungsoo by his over worried husband.
“Yifan, relax…” Kyungsoo chuckled and held his panicking husband’s hand tightly. “I’m okay… I am perfectly fine. In fact, I think I am pregnant…”
Kyungsoo had said it so casually that it took a full minute for Yifan to realize what he said.
“Y-You t-think y-you’re pregnant?...” Yifan asked dumbly while Kyungsoo excitedly nodded at him.
“I took three tests this afternoon and it all came out positive!” Kyungsoo beamingly told him the good news.
“Wow! Yes! We should go to have it confirmed by the doctors tomorrow. Oh! Kyungsoo! This is such a great news!” Yifan wrapped his arms tightly around his husband, his face exuding with happiness.
The next day, they went to the doctors as planned and the two almost shout out for joy when the doctors confirmed Kyungsoo’s pregnancy. Kyungsoo was ten weeks pregnant, after all the difficulties that they have been through, finally a miracle is now growing inside him.
But their happiness was short lived. Three weeks after Kyungsoo found out that he was pregnant, Yifan woke up to his husband’s frantic screaming. Yifan rushed to the bathroom where he can hear the water running and there he saw his husband wide-eyed and frozen by the sink. Yifan scanned Kyungsoo’s body and then he saw the blood trickling down his husband’s legs, which was staring to pool by Kyungsoo’s feet.
“What happened?!” Yifan’s grogginess from being awaken so suddenly was exchanged with panic and weariness.
“I don’t know! I was just trying to wash my face when my stomach started to hurt and the next thing I knew, there was blood trickling down my legs….” Kyungsoo explained, still don’t know what to do.
Yifan grabbed the towel and wrapped it on his husband’s lower region before he scooped Kyungsoo up and carried him to the car. They head to the hospital immediately.
The doctors told the bad news after a thorough check up on Kyungsoo. Sadly, Kyungsoo had a miscarriage; Kyungsoo’s womb wasn’t strong enough to hold the baby. Kyungsoo breaks down into a cry and Yifan couldn’t do anything but to hold him.

“What happened? I don’t understand anything? Did you plan this?”

“Are you really ready to throw everything that is good in your life for a failure like him?” Mr. Wu said challengingly.
“Kyungsoo is not a failure! He is the best thing that happened in my life. Yes, I don’t mind losing everything because as long as I have him in my life, I know I’ll be okay…”
“I don’t see why you are so in love with him? He is nothing but a gold digger, son…”
“He is not after my wealth. C’mon Dad give him a chance, open up! If only you stop judging him so easily, you’ll see that he is a good guy and he takes care of me well. “Consider this as my two weeks’ notice Dad… I mean Mr. President. Good luck in finding a new CEO.” Yifan grinned victoriously then he carried Kyungsoo bridal style out of his father’s office.

“What happened?!” Yifan’s grogginess from being awaken so suddenly was exchanged with panic and weariness.
“I don’t know! I was just trying to wash my face when my stomach started to hurt and the next thing I knew, there was blood trickling down my legs….” Kyungsoo explained, still don’t know what to do.
Yifan grabbed the towel and wrapped it on his husband’s lower region before he scooped Kyungsoo up and carried him to the car. They head to the hospital immediately.
The doctors told the bad news after a thorough check up on Kyungsoo. Sadly, Kyungsoo had a miscarriage; Kyungsoo’s womb wasn’t strong enough to hold the baby. Kyungsoo breaks down into a cry and Yifan couldn’t do anything but to hold him.
Their miracle was gone too soon.
Kyungsoo changed a lot after losing the baby; he barely talks or interacts with anybody. Kyungsoo would always want to be alone and he pushed away everyone, even his own husband.
Yifan was devastated too with losing their child but what hurts him more was that it was starting to feel like he lost Kyungsoo too. He understood Kyungsoo’s grief, he knew how hard Kyungsoo tried to be healthy for the baby but he wanted Kyungsoo to understand that he was not alone… that he will always be there for him.
Yifan knew that he have to be stronger for the both of them and he was willing to do anything to bring Kyungsoo back to his old happy self.
The news of miscarriage made Yifan’s father dislike Kyungsoo even more. He wasn’t that young anymore and he wanted a grandchild so badly. Yifan’s father believed that his son needs an heir and if Kyungsoo was too weak to give him that then older Wu decided to take things in his own hands.
Yifan was called to meet his father one day. Yifan found it peculiar that his dad wanted to meet him in a hotel room but he haven’t seen his dad for so long, he decided to just let the thought go.
Their conversation was mostly about business, Yifan’s dad would ask about Kyungsoo from time to time but the main focus of their conversation was still about business. Halfway through finishing his meal, Yifan started feeling dizzy. He could barely hear his father asking him what he was feeling when everything suddenly went black.
The next time, Yifan opened his eyes… he realized that he was still in the same room where he had dinner with his father but everything was different now. Yifan’s eyes widen in shock when he realized that he was naked and there was also a naked woman sharing the same bed with him.
Yifan screamed in utter confusion, he immediately grabbed his clothes and put it on. After he found himself presentable enough, he rushed his way out of the room and towards his car.
Yifan pulled over after driving a safe distance from the hotel. He raked his hair in confusion. He doesn’t remember anything that had happened; his last memory was having dinner with his father.
“Hello dad?” Yifan decided to call his dad to find some answers.
“Yifan… son, Jessica said you freaked out and ran out on her…”
“What happened? I don’t understand anything? Did you plan this?”
“Yifan, I’m not getting any younger and you need an heir… I spiked up your drink to give you that extra push and strength to get Jessica pregnant. She is a nice lady, with a very good background… she will be the perfect mom to your heir.”
“Dad! You drugged me to get Jessica pregnant?! Why Dad?! If you don’t remember, I am married and Kyungsoo is the only one I want to mother my kids.” Yifan yelled at his dad.
“But your excuse of a wife is too weak to bear a child!”
“I don’t care Dad! I don’t care if he can’t give me a child! And honestly it is none of your business! I don’t know what you gave me but you better pray that Jessica doesn’t get pregnant because I’m not the one who will take responsibility for it… you are!!!” Yifan furiously ends the call, without caring what his father had to say anymore, he doesn’t want to hear any of it.
“So this is how it’s gonna be huh Yifan?” Yifan’s father grinned in his office. He dialled another number and gave the person on the other line a simple command.
“Send it…”
The older Wu, mischievously smiles as he sat back on his chair. He was excited to see the outcome.
Yifan stayed out a bit longer to clear his mind and when he finally reached his house, he saw how the house was wrecked. He screamed for his husband’s name and quickly rushed to the master’s bedroom…finally he saw Kyungsoo sitting on their bed.
“Hey, what happened? Are you okay?” Yifan was quick to run to his husband’s side and cupped his face.
But Kyungsoo slapped his hands away, and then he grabbed the remote and switched the television on.
Lustful moans permeated inside their bedroom. Yifan’s eyes widen when he saw himself and Jessica having sex on the video. He instantly grabbed the remote and turned it off.
“I can’t give you a child so you tried it with someone else?” Kyungsoo’s voice was cold and distant.
“No…that is not what happened…”Yifan quickly defended himself.
“Then what happened? I’ve seen the whole video! I’ve seen how you released inside her a couple times… I am pretty sure that you were trying to get her pregnant!” Kyungsoo glared at him.
“I was having dinner with my dad last night, he drugged me and the next time I knew I woke up next to her. I swear I don’t know what happened between us!!!”
“You expect me to believe that?” Kyungsoo looked at him challengingly.
“Yes! Because that is the truth!”
“I don’t know what’s true anymore Yifan…” Kyungsoo stood up and was about to leave but Yifan stopped him.
“Wait, where are you going?”
“I need to go…”
“What? Why? I swear Kyungsoo, Dad drugged me! I did not cheat on you.” Yifan held his arm firmly.
“Drugged or not, you still had sex with someone else and I saw it… I saw everything! How do you expect to be okay with it? …to just forget about it?!”
“Kyungsoo, no… please don’t leave me…I love you…” Yifan pulled him into a tight hug.
“You love me? But what if you got her pregnant?”
“I don’t care! If it’s not with you then I don’t want any child… Kyungsoo, you are the one I married, you are the one I love. I don’t want a family if it is not with you. Kyungsoo please, I don’t know how to redeem myself but please… please don’t leave me…”
“I love you…” Yifan leaned in to place a chaste kiss. “I love you… I really do…”
Kyungsoo remained silent as Yifan placed kisses all over his face but when he remembered what he had seen on the video… Kyungsoo harshly pushed his husband away and ran out of their house.
Yifan tried to ran after him but Kyungsoo was too fast, he got into his car in no time and drove off.
Yifan was fuming when he barged into his father’s office.
“Do you really have to go that far?! Kyungsoo was so mad at me!” Yifan yelled at his father.
“Good then, is he leaving you now?” Mr. Wu answered calmly.
“I’ll leave the company if Kyungsoo leaves me because of your insanity! I lose Kyungsoo then you’ll lose a son!”
“Are you really ready to throw everything that is good in your life for a failure like him?” Mr. Wu said challengingly.
“Kyungsoo is not a failure! He is the best thing that happened in my life. Yes, I don’t mind losing everything because as long as I have him in my life, I know I’ll be okay…”
“I don’t see why you are so in love with him? He is nothing but a gold digger, son…”
“He is not after my wealth. C’mon Dad give him a chance, open up! If only you stop judging him so easily, you’ll see that he is a good guy and he takes care of me well. He loves me and I love him too. I love him regardless of whether he could give me a child or not. I love him and I will always choose to be with him…”
“So what are you gonna do now?”
“I’ll look for him and when I find, which I will, we will runaway together and stay away from you. I’ll do everything I can to find him…” Yifan stated firmly.
“You don’t have to, I’m here…” Kyungsoo entered the office and took big strides to where Yifan is.
“Mr. Wu, I know from the very start that you don’t like me but are you this desperate to go this far to get rid of me? Well, I’m sorry to disappoint you but I love your son. I came here to confront you about what Yifan told me earlier but I don’t have to anymore. I heard everything that you talked about and if Yifan can accept all of me, the good and the flaws,” Kyungsoo took Yifan’s hand and looked up to him.
“…then I’m willing to runaway with him because I love him.” Kyungsoo and Yifan were staring at each other.
Yifan’s face broke up into a big smile then he wrapped his long arms around his husband and lifted him up for a searing kiss. They poured out all their emotions into the kiss and right after their done, Yifan bravely faced his father.
“Consider this as my two weeks’ notice Dad… I mean Mr. President. Good luck in finding a new CEO.” Yifan grinned victoriously then he carried Kyungsoo bridal style out of his father’s office.

So Mr. Wu repented on his sins and he was so alarmed that Yifan was really quitting that he promised the two that he will no longer do anything to break them apart as long as Yifan stays as CEO.
Thankfully, Jessica didn’t got pregnant.
But Kyungsoo did…this time the baby survived full term and on their third wedding anniversary, they welcome baby Sophia into this world.
