Thanks Rhi!! That's really sweet of you. I've just had some news back to state that the higher powers that be can't locate him anywhere in Australia, so there's really very little chance I'll ever get the chance to meet him or know him. He's probably living overseas somewhere or something. In any case, it's time for me to let it all go and get on with my life once and for all. Not much more I can do.
