I want to start with the fact that I miss all you people living in my computer. *glomps each and every one of you* I disappeared following my Dad's passing, just so much to do following the death of a loved one, I secluded myself. I'm absent everywhere on the interwebs right now and will be for a while. Dad took a drastic downturn following my last post in December and came down with pneumonia. It was improperly diagnosed and left untreated for nearly two weeks before he was hospitalized. That was over two months ago. He hasn't been home since ( Read more... ) -
Foodstuffs...
I'm exhausted today... and I have a headache threatening to be something more if I don't pay very close attention and KILL IT soon. But, it's worth it. I spent over 9 hours making dill pickles and two kinds of jam over the weekend with my mom and my best friend Lar. My friend has never done any type of home canning before and wanted to try it. Interesting, fun and fabulous!
So, for the interesting portion of this post, my daughter goes in for the second set of wisdom teeth extractions in a little over a week. I haven't been saying much to her about it so she doesn't go into freak mode. I hate that this is during football season since the pep band has to play at all the home games... Sneaking by...
So, it's been a long month already. Yikes!
My Dad had surgery to remove the esophageal cancer that had attached itself to his lung on Monday. My daughter, brother and I all arrived at the hospital at around 5am and were there until nearly 1pm. The surgery took about three and a half hours, and the doctor ended up making a second pass to ensure ( Read more... ) -
