My Translations

Maybe I should explain something.

I don't like gossiping.  Especially when it has to do with GACKT's privacy.
This doesn't mean that I don't 'talk' about it.  I do talk about it based on information provided publicly by GACKT himself, or sometimes his friends, and I often do have fun with it.
But I don't like endlessly analyzing and speculating on ( Read more... )

gackt, fandom, translation

I hope there aren't too many people being negative over your contributions to the fandom, and helping people - like myself - understanding news that would otherwise be unintelligible to me, or having to go to untrustworthy sources. You are wonderful, ValVal <3

Unfortunately there are already rumours and assumptions since a number of fans decided that tabloids > everything else, so if a tabloid says they're in a relationship then it's obviously true. All you or anyone can really do is exactly this, translations and explanations and hope for the best. Otherwise all we're left with is jpopasia :S

Well, based on what the two have said so far (I haven't paid much attention to what the tabloids have been saying), I think it's a pretty safe assumption to say they do have SOME type of relationship that includes sex. :/
Unless they're lying through their teeth for publicity or whatever, but I'm not going there.

Your last comment made me LOL.
If only they were capable of doing much more than plagiarizing...

I don't think they're lying, but I'm not sitting here assuming it's serious because of sex. Open to all angles, you know? And I think he said something about prefering to get into sex early as opposed to later, so even if this is a casual fling sex still doesn't surprise me. Either way, didn't need to know G. That poor girl XD

Or outright misinterpreting. "They went on a date, they're in a relationship!!" Oh my. Please don't leave us with that XD

Oh, yeah. I really don't know how serious they are or not. At least she says she really likes him, but that still doesn't necessarily mean they're serious.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh yeah.... :\
But that's basically all the tabloids (I guess yespopasia's aspiring to be one. :P).

I feel a bit guilty now since I've actually asked you to translate that part of her interview... =__= But it was namely cause I've already seen some creepy translations, so I really wanted to know what exactly was said.

I'm very grateful to you, since our (Russian) fandom usually has to refer to English versions of any kind of info, so it's really helpful to have some reliable sources of definitely good translations. I usually link back to you or quote your ones to make things clear - and it does help, in many cases actually.

Don't feel guilty! I probably would've done it anyway, your comment just gave me a little push, that's all. XD

Thanks for saying that, it makes it all worth it to me. ;'D

Am I wrong or do you have some new followers lately? I've seen comments in your posts from users I haven't seen before which I suppose could just be lurkers posting only on occasion.

So if you feel the need to "splain urself Lucy" I get it. I think it help from time to time to post something for the noobs.

"Of course, if he's criticized for something he's actually done or said without any misunderstanding, I have no problem with that."

And if I recall you have criticized things that he has said or done before and so you don't go claiming it was mistranslated. This shows to me you're not biased in your translations. It's why I trust you and your translations. So between you and Amaia I don't feel the need to go elsewhere for trustworthy translations.

Hmmm, not sure. I get new followers here and there, but I haven't noticed a huge surge or anything.

Well, it wasn't just for new fans, though. I didn't want to come across as a hypocrite who says she doesn't like gossiping and yet constantly bringing up gossip-juicy topics. XD
I also wanted to give people a warning that they can't complain to me if THEY choose to read my posts on topics they don't like. I'm not begging to be heard or anything. X'D

Oh, of course! I know he can be such an ass sometimes, if I don't like something he's said, I'm usually the first one to speak up about it. :P
And yup, Amaia's the same way, I believe. ^^

Sorry for butting in, but... if I prefer not to criticize him, at least publicly, it automatically means my translations are biased? Well... I guess it may sound like that. Just wanted to point out it's not always true xD

Nope I don't think it would mean that your translations are biased either. I guess the point that I am trying to make here is that Val has defended him when she thought he was mistranslated and criticized him when she thought he was offensive to her and didn't rush to say he was mistranslated instead. So where Val is concerned it gave me the impression that there wasn't a high level of inherent bias in her translations, therefore I trust her. That's all I'm saying here.

Now I disagree with some things some times but normally over my lack of believing that certain behaviors are culturally based as opposed to universal. But regardless I still trust Val's translations.

I'm sure there are many other translators that are just as fair as Val and Amaia.
