Costume Update and Wuthering Heights/Kate Bush

Oct 24, 2009 21:22

Big thanks to everybody who gave me their opinions on my Halloween costume. <333
I got my costume this morning!! \(^o^)/
However...., it's not what I'd expected to get...
First of all, No.1 backed down on getting a SpongeBob costume himself. (~"~)
Also, even though the store had the SpongeMama costume, they only had it in one Junior size!
I'm only 5'3 ( Read more... )

Oh wow. (*_*)
Thanks for telling me about the cover version. I YTed and watched it already! =P
I don't know why Hayley didn't try to make the song more of her own, because it sounds a bit too much like she's copying Kate... But then she sounds too uplifting and fails to deliver the yearning and anguish and suffering. She does have a beautiful voice, though. =3

Hahaha, our talk wasn't really Gothic-related. XD;

:DDDD
you think that wolves are cool, how about huge mountain bears walking through the center of the city each night during summer
some of my colleagues met them face to face while they were taking their garbage out >.>, or while coming back home from work
i've seen them from the car, they were like 10 that night, younger and older males and females, one came to our window, they were impressive, huge... and now that i think of it, they could have easily destroyed that tiny car we were in... it was allowed back then to be in that area where they gather most often... now it is forbidden to be there at night unless if you have a serious reason for being there... like that if you live in that neighborhood ^_^, else you get a huge fine
well if you like i can tell you how they exorcise ghosts >.> ... nothing pleasant i can tell you that XDDDD

Hahaha, I really can't recommend the movies unless you really liked the book and you want to try them out. Well, the acting and setting are beautiful in the movies (especially the newer one), but the premise of the story just really bothers me. D=

No.1 decided to be a "ghoul" of all things. (-_-;

I fucking hate Wuthering Heights. The novel, that is. I think the song is rather groovy. And I have never seen any of the film adaptations. But seriously, I have never read a book in which the characters are so painfully shallow.

And I always go back to this one point. Never has there ever been a book to contain the word "ejaculate" so many times without a single sex scene.

Ohhh, what's your costume??? I bet it's fucking deadly!

HAHAHAHAHA, oh Amy, this is why I adore you. XD
Yeah, I watched the old version a long time ago and didn't remember the story very well. So I watched the newer version with my in-laws over a holiday, and after watching the movie, I must say I was quite frustrated with the very premise of the movie. I mean..., these main characters were just crazy with their obsessions and didn't care about anyone or anything else. And they called it "love". I was like "Give me a break." XP
But I've loved the song for so long now. =3

WOW... The author used the word "ejaculate" to sum up, and therefore skip, any sexual scenes? That's like listening to only the last 5 seconds of Vanilla! D=

Hopefully I'll post a picture after Halloween... >

There aren't ANY sex scenes! Basically, when Nelly Dean is telling the story (for that is the point of view from which it is told), instead of saying "Oh, no!" Heathcliff shouted, she says, "Oh, no!" Heathcliff ejaculated. It's fucking weird. Shout and scream are not interchangeable for ejaculate!

Unless Nelly Dean was hinting at some underlying STD that was affecting the whole fucking cast of character.

I just hate them all so much! The only one I don't hate is Edward, and he's presented as the bad guy because he's fucking normal.

AHAHHAHA BEST DESCRIPTION FOR A MISSED SEX SCENE EVER.

Same here, sis.
I love to read, but I read before going to bed, and it's so hard with No.2 sleeping in a room adjacent to our bedroom. I can't turn the light on! (T_T)

i read wuthering heights when i was very young, and i remember feeling really shocked at the hero - how could a 'hero' be so bloody nasty? i'll never forget the scene where he's bending his wife's index finger backwards till she's screaming from pain, and cathy is laughing away at that.both of them love torturing their respective spouses, as far as i remember ( ... )

EXACTLY!! The hero and heroin are quite self-centered, arrogant, self-absorbed, immature, and cruel!

HAHAHAHA
What an analogy!! XD
But you know, G could never be Heathcliff. G's too busy to concentrate and be obsessed with any one woman. XP

Well, I don't think I'll ever read the book itself, because I can't stand the main characters and don't want to waste my time reading about people going crazy with obsessions. (^^;;;
