yeah, so i've got an ulcer. at least, we're pretty sure i do. it's either that or gallstones, and fortunately we (i.e. me and dr. dad) are leaning towards the former, since the protonix i was given by the doctor on call at my family practice saturday morning seems to be helping. and that's nice, considering that if i had gallstones i'd probably ( Read more... )

You know, I wonder if more people are getting gall stones. Another friend of mine, my age, recently had her gall bladder removed, and my mom has had gall bladder problems since she was my age, and my grandfather before her. She suspects I have similar problems because I usually get sick pretty quickly after eating very small amounts of greasy food, but I'm not sure. It could just be because most people should get sick after eating small amounts of greasy food.

who knows? it could definitely be said that we are noticing more people our age with gallbladder issues. pain a few hours after greasy food is really the only indicator you need. i am normally capable of eating pretty large amounts of greasy foods without feeling bad at all...maybe you should get that checked out.

if i did have to have my gallbladder out i was going to have them give me the stones, so i could have them as a sort of coffee table curio/conversation starter, or maybe get them made into jewelry. i know that sounds weird but they are literally rocks, and they look kind of cool: http://www.lookgreat-loseweight-savemoney.com/images/gallstones.jpg

My mom had her gall bladder removed.. and then a gastric bypass. Worst. Farts. Ever.

I hope you feel better, nonetheless! And that your farts are unoffensive, of course.

Also.. I re-organized my CDs the other day (I say "other day" but what I mean is "it took me like two weeks") and I've been jamming to the last mix you sent me again. So great!

thank you! my farts, well, they haven't killed anyone recently, so that's good.

i'm really glad you like that mix, since you will always be the number one mix goddess in my life. i frequently make CDs for other people and half of the songs are usually things you put on mixes for me once upon a time.

My dad had an ulcer about 6 years ago and it seemed like an awful ordeal.

it's really not that bad, actually. they do take about 6 weeks to heal though.
