191: April Rain Song

“April Rain Song”
Langston Hughes

Let the rain kiss you.
Let the rain beat upon your head
            with silver liquid drops.
Let the rain sing you a lullaby.

The rain makes still pools on the sidewalk.
The rain makes running pools in the gutter.
The rain plays a little sleep-song
            on our roof at night-

And I love the rain.

It rained where I was today for the first time since last November. So, yay for this poem. <3

I'm with jwick. Are you from Boston? Because it's DEFINITELY raining here. All week.

Me too :) Yay for Boston. Not so yay for the grey depressing rain though.

You know... I felt bad after I wrote this, because today has been rain free, and weather.com says we won't get any rain till Friday. But generally speaking, it's been rainy. From about February to mid-April, it was raining and/or snowing every weekend. Grr. I have a love/hate relationship with my town.

Sang this song in 7th grade. It's a really cute poem.

I wish it would rain... *sigh*
