in Wales is what sport in the US? Is it what we call soccer? Is it rugby, but wouldn't it be called rugby, then? At any rate, checking Wales online, it seems they are delirious at how well Wales is doing in Euro 2016, which I'm not sure what that is exactly, either. Ignorant Jean is ignorant.

Yeah, we call soccer football, and by any name, I still hate it.

Give me the American version of football - pads, and helmets, and great Tight Ends - any day! Go Bears! (Yes, I know my team are pretty crap these days, but I live in hope of them returning to the glory days of yore. Preferably while I'm still alive to see it.)

I much prefer Australian Football, which we used to be able to watch around 3am on some cable channel we had at the time. Those guys are tough! American football players are generally muscle bound, and tend to get carried off the field if they get a hangnail or something. No offense, Bears. Also, Patriots, please. I live just a few miles from what used to be Foxboro Stadium (I hate corporate take over of everything, even names) and once saw OJ Simpson play, which was a big deal a the time, but now....

Not all American footballers are wimps, I've seen some real toughies play. Soccer players though - they're the real wimps. The tiniest injury has them in tears on the ground. Rain stops play! I've seen American football players play on through torrential wind and rain, snow, ice, even fog - that was a great game between the Bears and Green Bay, they couldn't see each other's end zone or half the players, but they kept going right to the end! Awesome!

Euro is like the World Cup, but only with Euro countries playing against each other. We won against Italy on Saturday and are now in the half finale with France. If we win that, we will go to the finale with whoever will win the other game. It's been a long time since Germany won against Italy, so everyone was quite excited.

Aside from Wales also Island was the winner of the hearts. They are a small nation, and nobody expected them to come as far as they did. But now they lost against France.

I don't really watch soccer either, but when the National team is playing, you kinda have to. They have a lot of new guys, many retired after we won the World cup two years ago in Brazil. Would be a nice double thing to have now this as well.

Island? What Island? So if this stupid Brexit thing actually goes through(OMG what were those people thinking?), that must mean that none of the UK countries will be able to participate again. Our tv stations are generally very nationalistic and we don't even hear a lot about sports in other countries, let alone get to see them. Or tv in general. Other countries get to see our stuff, but even BBC AMerica shows American tv shows some of the time.

Iceland sorry ;) Island is the German name. And when I said Euro I meant countries from Europe. Has nothing to do with the EU. I doubt the Brits will take their island and move it somewhere else ( ... )
