Here's a tidbit I forgot to mention. Last week I went to the orthopedist for my last visit (one hopes!), to check up on progress after my carpal tunnel surgery and ganglion cyst removal. There is still a honkin' bump on the back of my left hand, though it's not one big over-pronounced one like the cyst was. Basically, though, I used to have a bump ( Read more... )

Could there be another cyst?
When I had one of those two years ago, it came back twice, but I don't remember what the time span on that was - I think it was about a week the first time around and a month before it came back the second time. Does it feel the same when you touch it? (Not how the hand with the bump feels, but the fingers touching it - is the bump the same?)

Nope, definitely not the same bump. I'd read they can come back, but I don't think that's what this is. =/

I'm sorry. Hmm. What about a calcium deposit? (Trying to think of things that would not be arthritis, though as I'm not a med professional I should probably stop and just say that I hope it goes away or is treated easily.)

Maybe you had an arthritic cyst. My mum had one of them on her finger. there's tons of stuff you can do to ease it.
