And the first casualty of Christmas is...the tree lights. Desmond had, I thought, unplugged them. But no! The first thing to do is dig up two more of those itty-bitty fuses and see if that does it. If so, yay! If not, I guess I retire the tree after this year - the tree is pre-wired with those lights. It lasted 3.5 Christmases for $40, which is a

Did he maybe chew a wire somewhere?

Yep, it looks like that is what he did. I can only assume that the plug did wiggle mostly out of the socket before he did so because he didn't appear to get any sort of shock. I guess I could try wrapping it up with electrical tape, but these cheapo lights may be done for good.
