I can't stand the B-Story plot line of the teacher and his relationships. So much so that I'm nearly at the point of ignoring the show. But I agree the football game was the high point of the series so far. I also agree that the singing is over-produced and awful. I mean it's great for a listener, but a) they expect you to buy the fact that they just belt these songs out with little to no rehearsal time and b) that even so, they still aren't as good as they need to be to win? C'mon.
As for Toy Soldiers, I always thought that the best part of that movie was watching Wesley Crusher get killed. But then I grew up. Step by step...

It doesn't even bother me on that level. I'm willing to accept that for the sake of the plot. It's the over-produced thing, plus sometimes it seems like there are more parts being sung than there are people shown on screen.
My wife and I are also big fans of Glee, although I'm a few episodes behind but will catch up this weekend. Jane Lynch is the main reason we were even aware of the show back when they aired the pilot because we both love her, and figured anything she'd be in had to be at least decent.
