Pumpkin Beer

We had a pumpkin beer tasting party over the weekend and had a Very good time. Great people, yummy food, good fun carving jack-o-lanterns and tasting a wide variety of pumpkin beers. The winner by far was Matt's homebrew. I think it is by far his best beer ever and the best pumpkin beer I have ever had. All of our friends agree. Also with ( Read more... )

We are actually doing it again for X-mas. If you're going to be in the homestate around the holidays I might be able to procure you a six pack. I might even give you a pumpkin to go with it!

that's... kinda scary and impressive.

i think ive had saranac's and shipyard's. ive had the smuttynose old brown dog before but can't remember if i liked it or not. i did like their blueberry, tho.

im not exactly sure when i'll be in the home state but i know it'll be sometime around the xmas/new year's timeframe. i'll let you know once i get the details.

ooh, no need to spit out the seeds. i'd be curious to try that variety sometime...

If you ever end up with a garden I do recommend them. I'm not sure how a squash would do in a container on your balcony though!

Actually, maybe you could do a smaller bush variety, these pumpkins were definitely sprawly though.

yeah, i imagine container pumpkins would be rather difficult. my container avocado tree is becoming unwieldy enough...

There actually are several varieties of bush pumpkins and squash that are marketed to container gardeners. I just don't think that they've gotten to the naked seed varieties though!
