I feel like getting off these pills is going to be so liberating, so freeing. I've been reading John Ratey's Spark, which is an utterly intense read. I literally could not put it down. There is so much great information packed into this book. And the most important parts of it, for me, are the parts about depression and anxiety: all the research ( Read more... )

In all my experience of knowing people who are medicated on psychoactive mood enhancers, going off your meds is the worst possible idea for them. I do not support this.

I understand this and accept that you don't, but I feel that my reasoning (after speaking with my psychiatrist + my regular doctor) is solid. Considering I was diagnosed by someone who really didn't know what the hell she was doing, we don't even know whether I'm meant to be on these medications anyway.

But again, I understand what you're saying and trust me, I thought a lot about it for a year before taking any such step.
