My life has changed dramatically during the last two weeks. Before I stepped on the deck of the ship which then carried me with the crew to sail on the Baltic sea I did not know what life was. I was focused on writing and on Sparrabeth, afraid to let go and live. I came back a different woman and I'm not sure if I want to go back to how it used to

Oh, Kath! This sounds like a wonderful experience - I got chillbumps while reading it and I can't tell you how similar it sounds to Elizabeth.I think you're falling in love with sailing and the sea, like you said. I hope your next cruise is amazing and that you can truly live as you wish, for you certainly deserve it :) Since you aren't really focused on writing at the moment, would you like me to find someone else to be my beta till you get back into it? Give you a break of sorts. I don't mind :)

I'm so sorry about your fanfic. I really loved being your beta, but I'm so busy right now I won't be able to do this anymore. I think you should find a replacement, at least for now. I'm sure there are dozens of readers who would love to do the job.

Anyway, I'm glad you found my experiences very Lizzie-like. I felt a bit like Elizabeth myself, there on the Sea, with this wonderful man and all. I certainly did not expect I would feel this way, but I started crying when he was leaving, and then he embraced me, saying we would meet again. But it is still hard. You know, there was this moment, when we were sitting alone on the boat, after hours of talking about everything, when suddenly he started singing a song about a man who fell in love with a fair-haired girl (I have blond hair) and how he showed her the beauty of the sea, but he had to leave with his ship and abandon this beautiful Irish girl. Imagine me, sitting there, listening to this heartbreaking song coming from the lips of a man who captured my heart...

Events in your life can change you forever, and positive things like a trip can only be good for you. I totally understand you, when I first really travelled last summer it changed the way I was thinking... Love the quotes, too (I'm obsessed with Dean and Kerouac these days!)

Do whatever you feel like doing, you should write only when you feel like doing it...

(btw, are you working on a ship? could you give me more information about that?)

You hadn't answered to my message on LF nor updated your fic so I started wondering what you're up to. Fortunately I remembered that you had a LJ and here I am! *feels a bit stalkerish* :D

Anyway - I'm SO happy for you! It feels like you've found a new passion and that's the greatest experience one could have, me thinks. Hope you find what you're looking for on your next trip (that you're problably on right now).

And, although I love your writing style and your fics, I understand the need to take a break from something, to be free of it. I support whichever desicion you make concerning your writing.
