Bitey little ideas

Jun 03, 2011 22:27

It's been a long week and I could do with some nonsense. My original plan was to write my own version of the next episode and race the BBC to the Doctor Who cliffhanger... and try to outdo Moffat in ridiculous, barely-coherent revelations that nonetheless make some tenuous amount of sense. I'm probably going to be bustling around the city ( Read more... )

Hopefully everyone isn't sick of it yet (because there's still tomorrow).

I AM NOT SICK OF IT! I'm telling you, if I didn't have regular access to people who are just as obessed with this show as I am, I would have gone mad (madder?) by now. (Tomorrow it happens! Tomorrow we will start complaining 'why isn't it fall yet'??? BTW, do we have a more specific date than 'fall' for the show's return?)

I must be highly suggestible, because the idea of the LOOMS is starting to grow on me. Honestly, gestation/childbirth is incredibly messy and painful and dangerous and just so yesterday. If a species as advanced as the Time Lords were to develop the technology to 'grow' offspring by artificial means, why not do it? (I'd argue 'why not keep sex for recreation?', but naturally that addendum is optional. :P)

I keep thinking there must be a date somewhere, but I haven't seen it. I'll probably be one of the last to know. (-:

Bwahahaha, that's been my plan all along. Eventually I will indoctrinate the entire fandom. It does make sense, though! I think people just don't like it because it's all Brave New World (which is probably what the writers were thinking at the time anyway). And yeah... I have no problem with sex sticking around for recreation. What else would a bunch of stuffy bureaucrats get up to in their spare time? I feel like Time Lord society was probably secretly set up to promote it, to keep them from going all shoe-gazey insane (... yes, I think Bureaucratic Time Lord Hate Sex could've been a thing). It's just that the Doctor prefers adventure and romanticism because he's half-human. (-;

(I love that, no matter how bonkers the theory, there's always a bit of canon in Doctor Who that's worse. It's fantastic.)

"(This also explains why most aliens have the same basic body shape)." - Yeeeeeeeeessss~!!!

"Also there'll probably be something about the Silence. I dunno. Here: it turns out the the Silence are Flesh!Time Lords that didn't quite work out and kind of got all stretchy and they and are ticked off about it, because why should all the Human-looking Flesh get to have all the fun? They are able to toy around with people's memories because they're more strongly keyed in to the Vashta Nerada hivemind that makes up most Flesh consciousness and can manipulate it with their anger." - *dies laughing*

I'm going to save this stuff in case there's ever an American remake of Doctor Who, so I can write for it and make sure it's bad in ways that no one thought to expect. ^_^
