Children of the Brain

I've started MUSHing again, on the new Amber MUSH, Chronicles of Amber (amberchronicles). I blame evilmagnus's damned quote post for this.
I've got a young nobleman of Amber -- a sorceror and a gentleman. I'm building again, more or less for the hell of it.
This morning, in the shower, I had a spectacular inspiration for what ( Read more... )

Lemme know if you ever decide to start working that up. A new version of places code is so long overdue it's scary to contemplate.

SK, please stop wielding icons like this. I cannot think when confronted with the cuteness.

It always bums me out when I realize just how much creative work I've lost from back then - both text, games I ran and documented, logs, code and artwork that I didn't have anywhere else.

I still have a drive from my O2 where a lot of it is, but I cant get it to boot so have no means of accessing it.

I have my O2, still. It should still be operational, I just swapped it out for a Linux box when I moved back to Maryland. I'm guessing that a fair number of my missing files are there, so I'm planning on messing with it soon. If I get it to boot, I could see if I could read your drive?

That would be very cool - I just want to recover that stuff; has my old website, resume, etc.

At least my pr0n is safe!

That, in turn, led me to realize that somehow, I've managed to lose a significant number of files from the era of my work at DIGEX, including all of my Patternfall MUSH stuff and associated quote pages. Makes me sad.

Yeah, I've lost all my logs and stuff from that era. Wah.

I've started MUSHing again, on the new Amber MUSH, Chronicles of Amber

*sticks fingers in her ears and starts saying LALALALALALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU*

I deleted several novels' worth of (some freaking ten years old) logs from various Amber MUSHes and PBEMs when I got my new home desktop machine a couple of months ago.

Someday, I hope to stop twitching. :)

*perches on your head and makes evil hat noises*

FINITE PLOT ARC. Beginning, middle, and end. :)
Picks up a lot of the dangling Zelazny threads.
Cool people both old and new.
Most people seem to have families. Lot more time flexibility.
Limited alts, everyone's pretty much important.

You could play just a little. :)

I'm with nineme....LALALALALALALA.

Actually, I'm most likely safe from an AmberMUSH. If you put Belgariad back up on Brigadoon Day, like you've always threatened to, then I'll have a problem.
