Scooter issues

Drat it, I knew I should have started the thing a few times during the winter (I did at least slosh the gas around twice a week or more). Won't start.

Hopefully getting it running again won't involve anything major. It turns, but won't fire (and this is after I recharged the battery).

Anyone got any suggestions?

Drain the fuel and refill.

...after doing a lot of reading last night, it looks like there's two things for me to worry about. The first being whether or not the fuel cut-out switch is working (this is probably actually like the seventh but it's stupidly easy to check because I own a DMM) and the next being taking the dratted carburetor apart, which'll mean disconnecting the fuel line which may or may not be blocked with gelled gas that laughed at my sloshing attempts.

I also gotta get ahold of the guy who runs scoot-nashville.com and find out how it is that script kiddies keep dismantling their forums. I'm sure there's something I can do to help out there.

If I'm lucky, I kinda hope to prevent the fuel draining all over the place when I disconnect the fuel line. ;)

Luck never runs that way. It almost always runs the way of bathing in gas and ending up with weird chemical burns.

Draining it completely is really the best bet once you've figured out it isn't the cut-out switch, unfortunately you can't re-stabilize old gas. You can dilute it with fresh gas, but you'll increase the likelihood of making the carb sad(der). If you do manage to get it started, just wind the throttle way out a little while and use some regular spray carb cleaner (sparingly) and you should clear up most of your problems.
