Hm, was digging through old journals last night (until waaay too late), and I'd totally forgotten about all these little Bootcamp snippets I'd hoarded. Thought I might do something with them eventually, but all the burners on my stove are overfull as it is.

So.

That first one, the Ed/Roy... I think I've seen that somewhere before. Maybe in an email, once upon a time? Whatever- it's so yummy; if you continued on with that, I would eat it up with a spoon and still beg for more. Naughty automail dreams, oh god...

I wonder, is that in the same continuum as some of the other Bootcamp drabbles? Ed, at loose ends after restoring Al, until he finally wanders back to Central to bother Roy? I can kinda see it fitting in there, right before Ed finally works up the gumption to buy a train ticket, and the echoes of it would haunt that long ride back to Roy. Oooh....

And Hunny/Kaoru. Kaoru just longs so much, and so sweetly. And the indirect kisses, eee! Those bits are so quiet, and yet very eloquent in their hush. Of course, their relationship has always escaped any clear definition, hasn't it? Always weird, always something just this side of intangible, and both innocent and terribly raunchy all at once. Fascinating

Oh yeah, I think I mighta pestered you with emails of some of the outtakes. I'm not sure the Ed/Roy one was part of that other brewing story, where Ed is at loose ends after he fixes Al. It struck me as something darker, but who knows. I had all these interesting fragments for that thing, but ironing it all out and doing the necessary knitting to make a real narrative out of it just strikes me as entirely too much trouble. I learned my lesson with that damn Hunny/Kaoru Autumn Dusk thing, which was made all out of bitty fragments and months of fucking horrible nitpicky noodling & torture. blegh
