Awake and oriented. There are three magical questions that medics ask someone who's messed up. How ever many of them you get right will determine if you're A/O x0, x1, x2 or x3.

"Who are you?" Testing the long term memory.

"What day/month is it?" Testing mid term memory.

"Do you know where you are?" Testing short term memory.

When you start losing them, you generally lose the short, then mid, then long term memory. If you are A/O anything but x3 (times three) that means more than likely that something is not quite right upstairs.
