Dear Livejournal, I never thought it would happen to me...

So, MFF has come and gone with a surprisingly small number of incidents.  As I understand it, there was only two sets of flashy lights that came by the hotel during the convention, the first being the fire alarm and the second being an ambulance that I was out of commission for.  Migraines are such a lovely thing (not).

I got to see a good number of friends that I hadn't seen for a year, and even got to meet a small number of friends that I had only known through the internet for the past decade.  A good time was had by all.  And I utterly was a shutterbug geek throughout the entire con, taking close to 2000 pictures through it all.

Finally, after the con was over and I had said my goodbyes to Kasi Frost, I shortly got a phone call from her informing me of a two vehicle accident at a very close intersection to MFF.  My initial thought was that she was pulling my leg.  That lasted all of two seconds and told her that I would head out.  I then woke up my napping friend seven001 and told him there was a head-on collision.  So out we ran, gloving up and grabbing my bag.  After a minute of confusion, we got on scene, performed C-Spine and found our misfortunate injury to be A/O x1 with what appeared to be battle damage.  He was having a bad, bad day.  seven001 assisted by getting in the back seat and helping stabilize the head while Kasi Frost and I got a collar on him and continued to hold it until the local EMS replaced him.  Blessedly I hadn't witnessed anything, so the police allowed me to leave right after EMS extricated him and I went on my way.

So the joking comment was made about making a ribbon for C-Spine.  I wonder how much a run of that would cost?  The pre-req to get that ribbon would of course be that you have been trained in it, either through a course or by becoming my (or another EMT's) bitch at a scene.  Opinions?
