Broke his back right leg. When he manageed to get up (after struggling) he let out a very horrific sort of scream. It was chilling.

Mary King, his rider, said "I don't know exactly what happened on Sunday, and I haven't seen the video yet, but we shot over the first corner at fence 12, and then drifted right at the second and took the red flag with us. I think that unbalanced him and made him put down on the fence behind.

He had a suspected broken femur and although we hadn't had confirmation, he was in so much pain - whatever he had done was serious."

Oh, that is horrible. I always hate hearing about these sort of things. He was such a beautiful horse too.

We were all cheering a LOT because she had done such a fantastic flawless dressage test and was placed second.

Mary is always friendly with the spectators, but yes there were a loty of supporters/friends/family sitting on the side of the arena we were in so it's very likely they saw someone.

Wow, you got some nice photos! What is up with Vittoria Panizzon's outfit, though? I know absoloutly nothing about dressage, but I always assumed you had to wear the whole top hat and tails when competeing at higher levels.

Its her work uniform. Shes in one of the armed services and you are allowed to compete in all horse disciplines at all levels in dress uniform if you have written permission.

I need more practice on dressage photos. Will sort out jumping photos later or tomorrow. It was quite dark in there too so camera struggled.
