Swamped in paperwork

Warfarin dosing/INR monitoring = SHIT DUMPING ON ME, like TEN write-ups today.

On the other hand, at least I have reasons to call these people rather than soliciting random patients who gets grumpy when I call them and crap.

On a happier note, meatballs! )

ugh ugh ugh

do you have any comprehensive patients yet? I'm stressing out over the fact that I don't have anyone. let alone 5.

Well my preceptor is actually on vacation until the 22nd and he doesn't want me to begin doing comprehensives until he comes back. But then he is awesome and already found patients for me, so I'm mostly just padding up all my OTCs/follow-ups/projects so I can focus on the comprehensives when he returns.

But man, I understand the pain. Good luck!

could you post up the counselling pts for warfarin/INR? it'll be nice to know how they might/might not differ in a clinical setting.

Eh, there isn't really any special counseling points, just the usual stuff we learn. The pharmacists at our store are certified to monitor INR/adjust warfarin doses, so we get lab values from the clinic and phone the patients to update/check on them/set up next test dates, etc.

I think the biggest difference in a clinical setting is that some patients are often not quite there, and increasing the dose from 4.5 mg (2 mg + 2.5 mg) to 4.75 mg (three 1mg tabs + half of one 2.5mg tab) can cause some major confusion. = =
