Update on the Non-Update

Nov 30, 2011 10:10

I want to thank whoever nominated me at the dhr_advent -- it's an honor, and I truly appreciate it! However, I had to decline in an attempt to be an adult with responsibilities. I weighed the guilt factor of either end, and while I still feel sorry for declining, I decided I really have to focus my time on my current stories. People have waited ( Read more... )

writing, fallout, awesome!, you're alive!, busybusy!

I think I'm more depressed at the idea of TF ending than it not being updated!

What they both said. :)

And in addition: ZOMG! You're almost done??!@@!@!!! But, but, but... you are my "also has a big. long story that is taking a really long time and we can commisserate together!" I will cry for myself. And when it IS finsihed, I will read it all from beginning to end. And probably cry again from its brilliance. From your brilliance.

And in addition: I'm so proud of you for being a responsible adult. I rarely want to do that and am in awe.

Additionally: breathe. this too shall pass. one foot in front of the other and all that shit. really, though.

And lastly: ((((((((((((((((((((((((((((( hugs )))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

WELL, I think I've been writing my big, long story for longer, haven't I? So this means that I'm even more ridiculous in the wait time, and you're fine as long as you do not surpass that. So even if I do finish, you can just be like, "WELL, she took longer than I have anyway" -- RIGHT? And I'm always here for the ranting.

LOL, I rarely want to do it too! But since I do not have a time machine to actually live alright as an irresponsible adult, HERE I AM.

::hugs:: :)

I hope things IRL go smoothly for you. I've never doubted that any of your stories wouldn't be completed, and I'm right there with Withdrawnred on being sadder that it's ending ;)

Good luck with the real life stuff as well as all your projects!

I think it's more the newer readers who are nervous about me not completing it. The ones who have been reading it for awhile are more convinced that it'll be completed eventually. Maybe because most of you guys know that it is basically completed, and it's come down to revisions.

Thank you! I'm gonna take all the luck and build a suit of armor.

*shakes fist at the crazy* I feel like life should just get simpler the older you get, and not the opposite. Like a life reward or something.

*hug* You do what you need to do. Real life should always take priority. I wish you well in all the things you need to do.

Thank you! Hopefully things will get sorted out soon and I can concentrate on writing what I have to write. Thankfully I've got a lot of awesome, supportive people behind me. :):)

I never doubted that you would finish :)

But all the same, I do feel conflicted about it ending. Happy for you because TF is incredible and such an accomplishment and sad to see the end as well. It's like trying to look both left and right at the same time... if that makes sense.

Good on you for turning down the request. As sucky as it can be sometimes, RL somehow always wins out.

I'm conflicted too! I've been working on it to some degree for so long, and it's really going to be so incredibly weird not to always have it there, playing out in my head. But after the last chapter has been up for awhile, I hope people will be glad that at least it's complete and the wait is over.

I remember when I was writing this super long story for the dmhgficexchange, and I was on an extension deadline close to Christmas. So instead of properly buying a tree, I just got this shitty-in-a-box tree, and I feel guilty about it still. XD So, yes, it's always the smarter choice to meet the RL demands if you can't manage to balance both.
