I think Hugh Jackman is attractive and all, but I had to mark that option anyway. On principle. Oh, Dr. Cox.
Using the cure on Magneto was wrong on so many accounts. You don't just take away Magneto's powers, especially if the good guys are going to do it using the cure that they were against in the first place. I know, the dramatic irony, yadda yadda, but it doesn't work. None of the storylines worked like they should have, really. I couldn't even be all that entertained because the dialogue sucked. Blah.
I think I'd blocked those last two Batman movies out. :p Batman & Robin is definitely worse than Daredevil, though Batman Forever gets points for the Holy rusted metal, Batman! line. :p

You know, and that may just be the saddest part. That movie should have written itself, it was all there. And they just, didn't use it, for whatever reason. And not even so the special effects could be awesome, because while seeing the Golden Gate Bridge uprooted like that was cool and all, it was a little overkill, you know? There were like, what? 30 mutants? He could have just floated them over on top of some cars or something. :p
I do agree that there should have been a lot more of a "this is a bad thing" vibe about how they took out bucket-head, like sort of a low-scale version of using the atom bomb. It's a big deal, even if it's the only way (a friend of mine I saw it with, who is apparently more bloodthirsty than I thought she was, wanted to know why Beast didn't just stab him in the throat. Even a decent kick to the back of the head should have been able to knock him out). All the "cured" mutants will get their powers back later, anyway, if/when they make more. Even if they have to resort to the plot-device machine from the first movie to do it.
Yeah, I don't think I would have minded the decision to do it if it didn't seem like the X-Men thought it was okay to do it to someone like Magneto. If there'd been even a little remorse or reluctance, maybe it wouldn't have bothered me so much. Well, probably it would have, but in a different way. :p
I was saying to Racheal that same exact thing, it'll be easy to give everyone back their powers. All that takes is one line of dialogue. Or hell, just show the "cure" wearing off. Obviously nothing needs to be explained in the movie. *coughDarkPhoenixcough*

Ummmm....... I'm not sure you stayed long enough, if you say that.
Hm, good point. Although I think I was more bothered by them using the cure just because I like Magneto so darn much. I think my biggest issue with the movie was how out of character some of them seemed. But it was still fun, so I'm happy. Except I'm still kinda bitter over the lack of Gambit.
The one thing I think the movie got really, really right, was Magneto's reaction to Professor X's death. I only wish they could have dealt with that even a little bit more. Really, their relationship is one of my favorite things about the movie series, so of course I always want to see more there. :p
I agree about the OOC-ness of some of the characters. I felt bad for Cyclops, he got kind of a raw deal in this movie. Actually, most of them did, because the movie sort of forgot that it was about the characters and spent so much time on the plot, I think.
Yeah that part made me happy. I was glad they didn't make him flippant about it or anything because that would have killed me.
They certainly did arrest the character development in lieu of plot, which was kinda sad since I think the best part of the entire X-Men universe is the characters.
Yeah, and that was the problem, I could have overlooked a couple of little things, but they just kept adding up.
And I guess Hugh was pretty good, but he didn't really have much to work with. I wish they could have actually played up the relationship a bit more than they did before he had to kill her. But then, my complaints are always about the lack of emphasis on character relationships, so I'm sure I'm biased. :p

But the big finish between Logan and Phoenix? I'd sit through a much crappier movie if just for that 5 minutes or so. Hugh was so on.
But yes, that scene does remind me of how much more the Xavier/Magneto plotline could have been.
