The tricky part of this idea (hah!) is display the differences between one version of Loki, and the undertones of the fim-version who is... extremely unstable when you compare him to the base of his character through what we have of him in the myths. He could go off the deep-end, yes, but he didn't possess the same form of vulnerability that he displays in marvel!movieversion!Loki.

A lot of the imagery for Darcy in the film... did things to my mythology-obsessed little brain. I blame Kat, yo, ♥

and i may have 1200 of the next part. but. we'll all pretend i'm not, okay?

One thing I'm attempting to show is movie!Loki's complete instability as compared to positive!myth!Loki's because they are... well, their age shows, I'll just say that. The Loki we meet in the movie has no identity beyond what's been imposed on him by Odin for political and emotional reasons. It comes as no surprise that he comes so utterly undone when that identity is stripped from him.

Compare that to the Loki from myth, who is.... very much a self-birthed being who is completely in control of his own identity, and I know you already have some idea of where this will be leading eventually.

I have to say I am absolutely fascinated by this while at the same time being completely unable to wrap my brain around it.

I like to think myself intelligent and yet I have little to NO idea what went on in this fic. And I rather don't like being in the dark, though the dark is spellbinding in it's own strange way.

Pretty much, I want to understand but feel like understanding is always going to be just out of my grasp.

The good news is the next part should identify some of what's going on a little more clearly. Or at least present a slightly different look at them. Elements included in this series include the spiritual concepts of reincarnation and cyclical time as it applies to creation and destruction; it also includes the scientific (and spiritual for some) concepts of multiverse. And those will basically be explained through the fic ( ... )
