The good news is the next part should identify some of what's going on a little more clearly. Or at least present a slightly different look at them. Elements included in this series include the spiritual concepts of reincarnation and cyclical time as it applies to creation and destruction; it also includes the scientific (and spiritual for some) concepts of multiverse. And those will basically be explained through the fic.

I will say, however, that the main foundation of these first two parts was to illustrate a little bit of Loki from the myths, a very self-aware creature who has a strong identity of his own, and play with our lack of knowledge about Sigyn as she appears in what's left of the early myths - while also going into some of the concept of Loki as bringer of destruction as well as being source of what will be.

The Loki from the film is very much the opposite of himself in the myths, which fascinates me. He is shaped wholly by his existence as a being of Asgard, and his stability seems to shatter completely when that comes undone. There is no true sense of self in him, and while there's the start of him identifying as something greater than just what he knows, that's more the villain megalomania talking than any deeper levels of awareness.

So these first two parts are very much the start of the contrast between the two forms of him, and laying the groundwork that will shape what is the rest of the fic.

And, you know, there is a reason I'm posting it to the Loki/Darcy community, trust me.
