The story and characters weren't as engaging as they were in the other movies. Not for me, at least. I wanted everything to be the same, or mostly the same, even though I knew it wouldn't be.
Oh, well. All the more reason to keep watching the first three over and over and over. LOL!
And who knows? Maybe I'll like the next movies better. We'll see. :)
Overall, I enjoyed it. It certainly was not up to the standards of the first 3 movies though. Blackbeard and Angelica were completely uninteresting. I didn't get the attraction between Jack and Angelica and their ridiculous banter had me rolling my eyes.
The mermaid/missionary sideplot was intriguing, and I would like to see them in future movies but it just wasn't the same as Will and Elizabeth.
In the end though, anything with Jack Sparrow will make me laugh and his crazy escapade through London was quite amusing.

Agreed!

I was fully prepared to hate said sideplot, and I was surprised to find their part of the story one of the best parts of the movie. :)
I can't remember if the part about the Black Pearl and other ships in bottles was part of the little blip after the credits or not. It's the last scene of the movie I remember, at any rate.
I am eagerly awaiting Will's comeback as well! I expected/hoped the chief part of the movie to focus on the hilarious rivalry between Jack and Barbossa, and I expected to miss Will a little, and Elizabeth not at all. Then I found out that Barbossa didn't seem anything like Barbossa until the end, that he and Jack rarely had the funny moments I was hoping for, and that I missed Will and Elizabeth so much

Well, since they added the part of Will returning to Elizabeth and their son after the third movie I was kind of hoping to see more Syrena/Phillip but it was just Angelica finding the voodoo doll of Jack on the desrted island. Bleh...
Yeah, there was a good scene when Jack and Barbossa were both captured by the Spanish. Still not as good as the previous movies :)

Hello! I realize this is kind of off-topic however I needed to ask. Does operating a well-established website like yours require a massive amount work? I am completely new to blogging but I do write in my diary every day. I’d like to start a blog so I will be able to share my experience and feelings online. Please let me know if you have any kind of suggestions or tips for new aspiring blog owners. Appreciate it! Well-established website? Very flattering, but I hardly think so. It doesn't take a whole lot of work to run a LiveJournal, but I'm pretty sure you're already familiar with the ins and outs of the basics of blogging, as I see you already have your own blogspot. :)
