I already knew a lot about it, but I still wasn't fully prepared.

Pardon my rant . . . )

Blackbeard and Angelica were completely uninteresting. I didn't get the attraction between Jack and Angelica and their ridiculous banter had me rolling my eyes.

Agreed!

The mermaid/missionary sideplot was intriguing, and I would like to see them in future movies but it just wasn't the same as Will and Elizabeth.

I was fully prepared to hate said sideplot, and I was surprised to find their part of the story one of the best parts of the movie. :)

I can't remember if the part about the Black Pearl and other ships in bottles was part of the little blip after the credits or not. It's the last scene of the movie I remember, at any rate.

I am eagerly awaiting Will's comeback as well! I expected/hoped the chief part of the movie to focus on the hilarious rivalry between Jack and Barbossa, and I expected to miss Will a little, and Elizabeth not at all. Then I found out that Barbossa didn't seem anything like Barbossa until the end, that he and Jack rarely had the funny moments I was hoping for, and that I missed Will and Elizabeth so much it hurt.

Well, since they added the part of Will returning to Elizabeth and their son after the third movie I was kind of hoping to see more Syrena/Phillip but it was just Angelica finding the voodoo doll of Jack on the desrted island. Bleh...

Yeah, there was a good scene when Jack and Barbossa were both captured by the Spanish. Still not as good as the previous movies :)

P.S. I am watching the first one right now and it is SO much better! I think I'm going to do some marathon rewatching!

Ooo, now I want a marathon, too! Or, at least, a mini-marathon with all my favorite scenes. :)

Just Angelica and voodoo doll? Guess I missed nothing important. LOL.

That funny scene was my favorite part of the movie, even though, as you said, it still couldn't compare to the standard set by the previous movies.

I think that, if I want to have more funny scenes with Jack and Barbossa in them, I'll just have to write fanfics. When I actually have time not taken up by work, serious writing, and the internet. ;)

Yeeeah, except she's going to be in the next movie, grr!

Fanfics would be most excellent, silly writers need some fans to help them out!
