At 3 months I had lost my original hairline completely. See? It's almost three inches of hair loss in the corners. When I changed diapers I found hair in them. Unless you're experiencing other symptoms I wouldn't worry. The hair loss is all the hair you would have lost normally in the last year had u not been pregnant. Once the hormones go away you shed all at once so that's why it looks and feels so dramatic. I'm doing this via my iPhone so if the pic is all wonky feel free to delete!

Also baby is almost two and although the hair is short (baby hair reaches my nose, the hair that was always there is belly button length) it is all there. So if u go bald, well it won't be forever? One thing I remember is that hair regrowth depends on the cycle u were in. I *think* it is a multi year thing. Several years of growth, several years of maintenance. So if it seems to be taking awhile for new hair to grow back, u might have been in a slow growth period before u got pregnant.

Goodness! Yeah, I knew that hair growth is in cycles. It's just frustrating because before I got pregnant I had lost a lot of hair due to stress and it had finally gotten back to it's normal thickness and quality and now it's falling out again! Gah. I've bought some of the Nioxin shampoo I was using the last time it fell out, but I wish I could take silica tablets again because that really helped too, but since I'm breastfeeding I can't take them.

Like others said, it is normal. Horrifying but normal. I would comb my hair before I got into the shower and there would be TONS of it and then I would wash my hair and TONS more would come out and then while I was drying my hair, another pile would come out and I would think, "I am going to be bald aren't I?"

A new mother is already feeling kind of wack-a-doo what with sleep deprivation, hormones going on a wild, ride and then you add the hair thing and it is just cruel.

Hair returns. Mind you not as gorgeous and amazing as it was when you were pregnant.

Ugh, it IS horrifying, right? I'm cleaning out my brush every week, and every time I not only wash it, but dry it and brush it there's just hair everywhere!

Yeah, my hair was freaking unbelievably gorgeous when I was pregnant. So thick and glossy and shiny. And towards the end I would wash it and only lose literally about three hairs, so of course it's all falling out now. It's just....a lot. A LOT.

Yep. Invest in hats.
The baby hairs will show up and you will look you have half-assed fringe. It gets pretty weird. This is what causes Moms to lose their marbles and get mom hair-cuts.
