Interesting. It's eerie how similar this is to a couple of experiences I had as a teenager. The thoughts, the feelings, and what stopped them. But would Tom, as we know him, have ever considered suicide, given his terror of death? Maybe. To people like him, boredom feels like an unbearable torture, and they'll do almost anything to escape it. If that's why he found the orphanage "dreadful", I can imagine him fantasizing about killing himself...

Wow, this is fantastic. I never would have considered this aspect of Tom's personality and now I can't get it out of my head. It seems canon, realistic, and perfectly Tom. I haven't read very much Dark Lord fic and now I'm craving more. I think you're being a very silly girl and you need to sign up for a fest asap because your writing is great. Do it!
