Today I went to see my doctor for my annual check-up. Part of this involves sticking a needle into my arm and taking the blood which, by all rights, should be inside my body and pulling it out of my body. I don't like needles. Haven't since I was 10. I hate it too.

So much so that I forced myself to go through it a few times, just to try and shake the 'fear', gave blood a few times.

After all, I do love bruises.

Tip: if you don't like needles in the vein(I hate them too), don't get pregnant. I've had 15 vials removed so far... one lot of three, two lots of six!

If I knew, I'd be doing it!

They check you (as a stock standard volley of tests) for anemia, blood group/rh factor, STDs, toxoplasmosis if you have a cat or live in a toxo area, infections (throughout the pregnancy), chances of Down Syndrome for your unborn child, the list goes on...

Though I suspect that they're secretly using me to stock the underground vampire bloodbank... the pregnant ones are an easy target because mums-to-be contain 40% more blood in them whilst the baby's in utero... it's a conspiracy I tell ya! Why won't anyone listen to me??!
