Well, Indy was a good puppy this morning during his walk. At least, he didn't pull *that much,* especially given the Pom he met this morning. They met noses nicely, but when Indy went to sniff the Pom's butt, the Pom started snapping. The owner apologized; apparently the strays in the neighborhood spooked her earlier in their walk. Could be Rabies. The only way to know for sure is to capture the animal and test it. Chances are, though, once the animal starts to display symptoms, it will not survive, even if treatment is given to it.

You might keep an eye out for bats... They're supposedly the most numerous carrier in the US, followed by skunks. Though, any mammal can be infected, so be careful. I don't think that you'd enjoy the rabies treatment, and I don't think that little baby nugget would, either. :-)

Yowza. I hadn't seen bats around or skunks, but I'll definitely keep an eye out. There's a lot of underbrush in the neighborhood, and there are some abandoned lots in the area that are overgrown.

How's the situation near you?

By and large, though, I haven't seen much in the way of strange things. There was a really pale guy lurching around downtown snapping at people, but for the most part, there's not much to report.

IIRC, you live waaaaaaaaaay up North. Perhaps temperature slows teh turning process?
