Well, Indy was a good puppy this morning during his walk. At least, he didn't pull *that much,* especially given the Pom he met this morning. They met noses nicely, but when Indy went to sniff the Pom's butt, the Pom started snapping. The owner apologized; apparently the strays in the neighborhood spooked her earlier in their walk. The strays were acting weird. I've seen one, it looks like a shepherd/husky mix, and would stay across the street from us as we walked, then made sure to mark its territory. Apparently, this morning the stray actually approached them, snarling, and tried to nip the Pom's hind quarters. Poor pup. She could walk all right, and they were almost home when it happened. The Pom was black, so it was hard to see if the stray actually broke the skin or not, but she definitely was wary of any sniffing action from Indy.
I didn't see the stray this morning, but I mentioned it to Jay. He hasn't seen anything like that, and we've heard there are at least two stray dogs in the neighborhood. Rabies, maybe? I know I've seen raccoons around, and there have been a couple bird corpses on the route I took this morning. They didn't look mashed like they were hit by a car, but more like they were pounced on.
I've got a full day of patients this morning, then the OPD retreat, where the second years come meet the attendings. I had voted for Famous Dave's for lunch, and they had said last week that my vote counted for two. haha.
