Today was an odd day. On the one hand, it was hugely productive. I had a rough start, but then spent a good part of the day getting caught up on updating the Jamie Craig website and dealing with a lot of the administrative stuff that crops up. pepperlandgirl4 and I managed to get 3k written on the final book in the Master series, too. So productive, right ( Read more... )

So sorry about your hubby's situation. Man, his company was pretty cruel....

3000 words today is definitely productive!

The company's excuse was they didn't want to ruin the holidays for people. They just ruined the new year instead. :P

*big hugs* I think a lot of people are dealing with general malaise right now. It's the economy, and winter blues, and all the bad stuff going around.

Yeah, I know a big part of it is the fact that I feel helpless in the face of Craig's frustrations. It kills me to see him unhappy, and yet, there's nothing I can do to alleviate that except to be there for him to talk to and support whatever decisions he makes.

Thanks for the hugs. :)

Definitely not a good thing. Hopefully he can let off some of his steam to you, but you also need to find a way to let it pass you over and not hold it in yourself. He should certainly try to keep in touch with the person and when that person finds a new (and maybe better job), hopefully that will take a bit of the stress off of him cause then he can be happy for his friend again.

But yeah... with the winter, the economy (currently my "company" is considering a 2000 man cut, but is also looking for ways to lessen that), there is a lot of unease and unhappiness going around. Find what can make you happy, find what does take your mind off the worries, focus on core values (family, friends) and find joy in that :)

He's keeping in touch with him, most definitely. We're best friends with the whole family. But the friend is trying to find a new job, and so Craig doesn't want to add to his stress levels by complaining about his own situation. it's just a sucky time all around for people.

I'm taking joy in the little things right now, and the things I can control. :)

*hugs*

Yeah, its hard times all around. I have many friends in some pretty dire straits. But then, occasionally there are some good signs too :) Like a friend of mine that had pretty much sworn off dating again... going on a date with someone she had been eyeing for several months and started actually talking to semi-recently :)

Oh, now that definitely made me smile!

I'm waiting for my copy of Dr. Horrible, too. I'm dying to see it on my tv instead of my tiny laptop.
