That scene in the second video: where they're in the men's room and strike out the light bulb? Yeah, that's one of the scenes that sticks out most in my mind from SWC. xD I just - yeah. I was really sheltered, and until I got a TV in my room, I would have never seen anything like that.
Remember a Lifetime movie called The Truth About Jane? (Jane was a lesbian.) Actually, I don't think you probably would. xDDDD That was when I didn't have a TV (whether it was because it was before or because it was when mine was broken - yeah, i don't know.), and I tried to watch it in the livingroom...by quickly changing the channel when anyone was going to come into the room. SIGH.
It's always weird for me to think about people being sheltered when they were young because I really wasn't. I mean, I was watching SWC in elementary school. And I didn't have a TV in my room, either. xDDD
And no, I haven't seen it... but I may watch it now! I know I've been saying that a lot lately but it'll happen. At sometime in the future. Probably.
And yes, aww, Stephen Colbert. :'3 He makes me so happy. I've been in a very Colbert mood lately. I put this whole thing on my mp3 player and I've been listening non stop. It makes me less lethargic. And yes! So much yes! Let's kidnap him and lock him in a closet and make him sing for us! :'DDD
South Park fic recs... hmmm.... It's been so long. I'll need a little while to find some..
And you do not write too much. I enjoy long comments. :3
WELL, yeah. I mean, my mom was overprotected by my grandmother, and so I suppose the natural course was for her to overprotect her own kids. xD Really, though, I tthink we were shielded from any display of sexuality more than anything else. (And I mean, it's possibly no surprise, seeing as how you were there to sort of witness my Hard Candy teeheehee freak-out. And it was TAME.)
The closest we got really was... Well - my mom LOVES men in drag. So I mean, I grew up watching like Some Like it Hot and To Wong Foo (though I didn't get to watch the part at the beginning, where the men are getting dressed. hah.) but if any of it went deeper into sexuality, there would have been major fast-forwarding. I remember watching Heavenly Creatures with my mother and her fast-forwarding the girl/girl scenes in particular. SIGH. Major issues and DENIAL and self-loathing ensued
( ... )
Sighsigh. Yes, there is much reason for happy sighs. Remind me to tell you why! Okay, I'll tell you now. SIGH.
I finally found satisfying Eric/Hyde fic! :'D LOTS OF IT. I was up all night being satisfied! By fic! It was spectacular. I haven't been so pleased with fic in some time, and I'm not even going to think about whether reading nothing but crap for a week has something do do with it or not. Sigh. Sigh. OKay, enough sighs.
Okay, one more. SIGHSIGHSIGHSIGHSIGHSIGHSIGHSIGHSIGH@!!!!!!!! :'DDDDD happyhappyhappy
Come back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Summon, summon, summonnnnnnnn. SIGH. it's times like these that I wish I could send you a textakdfjaksd ARGGGGGGGGG frustration plantationnnnnnnnnnnnnn
