Ouch about the football game - please nevermind her, football can do strange things to human psyches. It will pass, I am sure. Though in football´s defense it can also do good things, I like the way it can serve as a talking bridge in this country - not club football ( oh, no indeed!) but national team football, is the stuff which people can talk about and comment and watch and all regardless of any social or economical or racial or whatever classes. It is a pretty powerful sport it must be told.
About To Say Nothing of the Dog, oh, sorry about it not being quite in the funny-way you like best, I know about the humor which one admits is funny but can not quite touch it. It has some pretty cool ideas and plot stuff ( plus more cats, you will be glad to know) so do not put it aside yet, unless you are really loathing it ( ok, which i think you are not, but just in case). Oh and let me know what you think of Harris´ books when you finish them! I hope you like it, but keep in mind, I think the series gets better as it goes along.

I don't blame football, I blame my mother. And that stuff about things people can talk of no matter what they belong to, it's also an argument for Reality Shows, so excuse me if I don't buy it :p

I liked it ! It's not the kind of humour that makes me laugh out loudly, that's all I meant. It was very good. Well plotted and well foreshadowed too - maybe too well, because I guessed most of the plot :p

Oh, I so want to see your final reaction to that book ;)
The sorry was in case I had recommended it ( could be, not sure) and that influenced you on buying it - but glad you are enjoying it, I love Willis. Is it your first Willis novel?
About football, you got to experience that talk ( and nope reality shows do not even came close), it exists, but it is also related to how unfair and dramatic football can be, which makes it an awful lot like life and one can apply a lot of the same aphorisms to football and life.

My grandmother likes to make derogatory comments about Mexicans...in my presence. Family can suck sometimes.
But I'm of the opinion that if you must harbor racist thoughts, the least you can do is keep them to yourself. :/
