That was lovely and Rose is a perfect name! Had to smile at Jared's efforts to get Jensen to the hospital and how awed he was at Rose's birth. Wonderful chapter, and so glad to hear that you're getting better!
Thank you! Glad you liked this chapter as much as I liked writing it, and the baby's name as well. It's always touchy, finding a cute baby's name, when it's not in your birth language.
I knew, when they asked me to grab my third kid, that I wasn't being really useful but it was meant to make me feel more in control, and to help with the bonding, and I still really, really liked it. I don't know if in a semi-urgent situation like a birth in an elevator nurses would really take time to do it but I thought it was fun to add in the story.
I'm sure births in car are fun -scary but fun, right?- but I figured Jared's determination ought to bring Jensen at least to the hospital's elevator. He had promised after all ;-)
Yes, I got that car births couldn't really be "fun" :D You've got to have nerves and control to deal with this, I admire you.
The first time must have been nervewrecking, but wow, now your count is at 23 babies!!! You're practically an obstetrician (having an insider POV, I never been scared of the doctor not being able to make it in time, seriously, obstetrics nurses are so competent, and most of the time, THEY don't have an ego to deal with)
Oh that was just such a beautiful chapter! I love how excited Jensen was, and that he was kicking Jared's ass at Scrabble while in labor! It was scary when the contractions started to intensify so suddenly, poor Jensen, I was worried something was wrong and the car journey was so tense, poor Jared!
The birth was great, better than in the car just about, and I love the involvement of the father/mother in delivering the baby, I'm not sure if that's done over here but it's such a lovely idea and must really help with the bonding.
Jared being there and cutting the cord was so sweet and they already seem to be a perfect family, with baby Rose completing it. Lovely!
I'm pleased to hear you are starting to feel better, take care and don't try to rush it, I've heard doctors & nurses make the worst patients!!
Thank you so much for the comment! The labor-delivery par of my mpreg stories is always something I look upon to writing (to feed my inner h/c junkie) but which is always difficult because I want it to be good and to pay back for the time the readers waited. It's such an emotional opportunity for the characters as well. So I'm really glad when my readers appreciate it.
You would have to ask my husband if I'm a good patient or not -he says I'm easy-going ;-)
