Because I like to make my life really really effing hard, I just started a new book. As in writing it. Oh GREAT! I have no time for this junk. I mean, NONE. I'm in school 40 hours a week. I like pain, I guess.

It's utterly ridiculous and when I sell the movie rights I'll give elizah_jane ten percent. I AM GENEROUS. Actually I'll import her back into my house ( Read more... )

I am confused as to why you would present this as an either/or situation. You know how I dislike blood.

BOOKS ARE VIRUSES HORRIBLE HORRIBLE VIRUSES

I love books and writing them.

I think it will be very hard for the show watchers to remain completely unspoiled because the series is so very popular. It's like asking people who only saw the Harry Potter movies to ward themselves from all spoilers about the books. AND THAT LEAVES HOW MANY FANFICS YOU CAN ACTUALLY READ? Dilemma.

Yeah, I think the same thing about reading the fic when you know nothing about the books. And it's gonna happen. It just is.

I DID NOT KNOW YOU WROTE BOOKS, TELL ME MORE.

Original fiction novels are mostly what I did before getting back into fandom last year with Inception. I've written a couple. They are very long, rambly fantasy books with huge casts and lots of political intrigue. I enjoy the fuck out of them, but at the same time they are nowhere near good enough to try and get them published, which is fine. They make me happy, what more do I need?

TELL ME ABOUT YOUR NEW BOOK. :D

I liked the first two episodes of Game of Thrones. I would read the books, especially because I hear there are some specific difference in certain events, but I also hear I won't like the books. To read or not to read?

Yeah, I say give it a go and decide for yourself. I read them all but I didn't enjoy them necessarily. That's not unique, though. I read a lot of books I don't really enjoy completely.

What is it you think you won't like about them?

I was talking about GoT on Twitter last night and saying I'll have to read the books because I'm liking the show so far, but I have heard that there were some tweeks to certain events in the show compared to the books. Of course I want to know how it was originally written. Someone on my twitter that I often discuss books with had said I would probably dislike the writing style, in particular that the chapters are told from different character's POVs. They're opinion was not that I wouldn't like the content, but how the story was told would frustrate me, based on their knowledge of what I like and dislike about books.

Despite this I have pretty decided to read them.

Yes, the pov shifts from chapter to chapter. Some people see this as a feature, some as a flaw. As you would expect, some of the pov characters are better than others.

It is about a girl who has a dragon. NO REALLY.

I think you're probably right about needing to know the books to get the show. I can't tell because (obviously) I've read the books. I think probably the case is the same with all HBO shows, though. Keeping Treme straight or Rome is probably difficult the first couple episodes, idk.

BAD WRITING DECISIONS: WE MAKE THEM.

I guess it's a fair trade then. I can feel unguilty about shamelessly now demanding the next part of the Anger Management Story. Which is what I'm doing now.
