I'm curious what movie or show the screencap you used for the tutorial icon is from. I looked over the site you linked to but I have yet to come across it. I'd appreciate knowing.

And thank you for the tutorial. It's interesting how when watching a movie one is not too aware of the darkness some films tend to be until you make a screencap of it and it's sometimes so dark! The untreated icon, you can hardly make out the details. Thanks again!

Awesome tutorial ^^ but I'm not very good with curves is there any way around that?

I'm not really sure, I haven't really tried it without curves. I assume you could change the RGB with either levels or brightness/contrast and the colors with selective coloring, however. Here's a great tutorial for curves though, they're really useful =D
