(my partner is mistearyusdiva2 )
'Working in a world famous multinational IT firm had it perks, but not always, especially when you needed to deck up for your special day and have to lie in order to get a leave’, Surbhi rued to herself as she rushed into Tress Pass and removed her Aviators and scarf to be greeted warmly by her confidante and life-saver for special occasions.
“Ah! My lovely Surbhi, so good to see you.” Charley air-kissed her cheeks.  “The pleasure’s entirely mine, sweetie” Surbhi returned the favor. She had come to trust Charley to fix all her problems, cosmetic or personal. They had even met up for drinks on few occasions and hence had a mutual admiration for each other.
“What can I do for you?” Charley turned professional. “Well, I have a special date tomorrow evening, what do you reckon? A facial maybe?”  Surbhi countered.
“Aha? Proposing is he?” Charley teased and Surbhi blushed. “Hoping so.” She replied.
“Radiant Glow Facial?” She asked flipping the brochure. “Sounds cool. The special oxygen capsules will enhance your complexion.” Charley approved. “Come this way please.”
“So Miss Surbhi Mehta, what should I call you when you visit next time?” Charley continued pulling her leg as he made the arrangements and got her seated.
Surbhi smiled her hundred-watt smile “Deshpande. Mrs. Surbhi Deshpande” She beamed.
“Ah! A Maharashtrian? Is he romantic? I find those kinds really un-romantic.” Charley grimaced.
“Personal experience eh?” Surbhi giggled. And Charley mocked her by making a face. They both exchanged smiles.
“On the contrary, he knows how to woo a girl and can very well sweep someone off her feet, if he decides. He is really good with words, you know. I hardly came to know how these two years flew past just talking to him. Tomorrow is our first date anniversary, I don’t know if he remembers. I am taking him out for a surprise dinner.” It was always easy for Surbhi to open her heart out to Charley. There was something special about him which made people comfortable to share their woes.
“Ah! That’s wonderful. But then who’s proposing whom?” Charley responded as he began the cleansing-toning-scrubbing procedure.
“I am.” Surbhi declared. “Way to go girl” Charley hooted.
“Actually the past two months we have been not been able to spend time with each other. Even at office he’s busy with his Computer all the time. It’s just the coffee breaks that we have been sharing and that too have ended up with me cribbing about us. Last week we had a major fight. We almost broke up.” She sighed. “So kind of making it up to him.”
“Hmmm” Charley pondered as he scrubbed his way up from her cheek, pressing her temples. “Do you think he is your Mr. Right? Are you really sure about this guy?”
Surbhi chuckled, “Of course, no doubt there. We are very similar in every walk of life. We share the same perspective about any given thing in the world. It’s kind of uncanny. Initially I was spooked as to how does he read my mind. But then, did you know there’s a word for it? Intersubjectivity. That’s the word , he said summed up our relationship. Well, it could be like he is sitting here and saying the same things as me.”

“Right” Charley responded turning on the steamer and adjusting it towards Surbhi’s face. “It’s got to be looove baby” he crooned. Making his way out to attend his previous client. Surbhi closed her eyes and took in to relaxing. An idiotic grin plastered on her face. “Coz it feels alright, It’s got to be love, yeah..yeah.” She subconsciously hummed to herself.
Her reverie got broken by a voice from the outside, “Hello, I’m sitting in the chair next to yours. The perfume you are wearing…ummm it’s lovely…” Normally Surbhi would have retorted back over the intrusion of privacy, but today her mood was mellow and nice. That's what Charley’s speciality was , uplifting your mood to seventh heaven as you are pampered along your way there, and it was exactly the reason she loved coming to him.
"It’s Classique by Jean Paul Gaultier.” She replied. “Thank you” came the reply. She wondered why she hadn’t noticed this client when she entered; she mentally noted that the voice was melodious, childlike. She switched the voices on a background and went back to feeling relaxed concentrating on her breathing.
She didn’t realize when Charley entered back and started the moisturizing routine, leaving her with the pack on. She almost dozed off to glory and before she knew Charley was back to sponging her face and wiping it clean. She felt fresh as pearl and when she looked into the mirror she felt like one too.
“Oh! Charley. Your are a sweetheart!” She exclaimed delighted with the result. “I’m sure he would be floored.” Charley admired his handwork. “By the way I forgot his first name, sorry.”

“Rahul. Rahul Deshpande. Works along with me in TCS.” Surbhi chirped handling over the bills. “He actually prefers to be called ‘Word Warrior’ as no one can beat him in the war of words.”
“Take care, Sweetheart. God Bless you.” Was all a stunned Charley could manage while his mind went into a frenzy doing summersaults while connecting the dots.
