Here are the answers, with the name of the person who guessed it first!

1. "You like them? They haven't failed me yet."
From Le Cite Des Enfants Perdus, guessed by no one because apparently quoting translations is confusing? Or you're all philistines. In the French she says, "About my beauty, men don't miss a crumb," but wtf ( Read more... )

Someday I'll have a contest in my blog about impersonating the lead singers of crappy metal bands, and then you will be SO in.

I still protest the choice of quote from #12 - you know dern well I'd recognize 75% of the lines from that movie, and then I would have more solidly trounced lathepoet.

If by "solidly trounced" you mean "tied with," then yes, I suppose that might be true. But a more obvious Much Ado quote might have meant he got it too...and you'd still be in second place. Be satisfied that you got Newsies and he didn't.

I still can't believe you don't remember that line...for some reason it reminds me of this line from The Philadelphia Story: "Thank you so much for your Old Dutch Muffin Ear, with which my husband and I will surely hear any muffin coming a mile away..."

Tied with? Second place? I thought I got 6 and he got 5? 6 is more than 5 when last I checked.

I'm just enraged you're calling me an ignorant tart when you deliberately chose an obscure one that doesn't contribute to the flow of the story and I can't think of a fitting counter-insult. Lucky for you I'm too much of a lady nowadays to make up for my lack of verbal agility with my nails. :p

My first thought on 11 was High Fidelity too - totally sounds like something Jack Black would say in that movie. Remember his ridiculous Monday morning mix?

D'oh. Aaron was the front runner before you answered, so I forgot which one of you won.

Also,
1) I was calling EVERYONE ignorant little tarts
2) "You ignorant little tarts" is a quote from History Boys you see what I did there?

Corey guessed three and got one wrong. Seriously, are Matthew Lillard and Jack Black that similar?
